With all that happened last year with the Tim Donaghy scandle, there was a widespread opinion going into this season that the officiating would be at it's best this year, as they will all be under the microscope.

Watching NBA League Pass this yr, there a couple of observations I have noticed.

#1 The officials are using a lot of late whistles. waiting to see if the players shot goes inor not, if it doesn't he blows thw whistle.

#2They are really watching palming, and traveling this year.

I wonder how many will get called for Palming when the game is on the line and a player has to get thru the defense and palms the ball to get to the rack.

Any thoughts ??

I noticed they were calling palming like crazy on Jamal, but for the last 2 or 3 games they let him run wild. Weird.

I believe it was near the end of the Golden State / Orlando game - Dwight Howard missed a put back, got fouled and the call, and just hit the padded standard - not hard or violent or anything-

The refs T'd him up- close came and it was a total BS call.

Then, last night- forget the game, but I see the same exact kind of play, and no call.

I've noticed the late whistles as well - I personally think the officiating has been worse this year.
