Mini
Sonics
Portland - kind of even
sixers - kind of even

Cannot see more
I believe Heat and Chicago will be better that this.

Any more candidates?

i dont think philly will be worse than us actually - i think you're right - kind of even, but i would throw in atlanta for sh*#ts and giggles....they may be 6-9 now, but you know the 15 game losing streak is coming.

this thread should be stickied up top, since this is one bright spot on the season.

seattle, memphis, minny, philly & portland are the first group for worst- we may be part of this group.
second tier is charlotte, atlanta, with the clippers and miami on the bubble.

I still can't believe Houston traded him for Battier.

Maybe it makes sense to make it sticky?

dont forget, battier was being marketed as one of the best defensive players (or to borrow a phrase from zeek talking about jj2 - "the glue") and rudy had nothing to his credit other than college success at the time. i can understand it, but boy dont they wish they could monday morning quarterback that one....

I think it should be stickied. I had a poll earlier about rooting for a high pick in the lottery. We'll probably have a new thread every week on the draft lottery. At least if you sticky the thread there will be one positive aspect of the season to always look forward to on the board.

I'm sure this group will put together a winning streak and threaten to make the play offs- just like last year when we were in the 8th slot long enough for dolan to hand out isiah's extension.

And then folks will lose interest in our lottery pick potential, the kool aid drinkers will laugh at us.

But, come May, we'll be moaning about how we should have just tanked to improve the number of ping pong balls we'd have.

Sounds about right.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

which probably means we'll be targetting a low post player who plays no defense in the draft this year... u just can never have enough of those.

And he should be long, athletic, soft, and... fat...

You have more confidence in this dysfunctional squad than I do. Anyway, if the team is merely on the edge of making the playoffs, then this thread would be great place to discuss the options if the team doesn't make the playoffs.

I said that in another thread where one of the kool aid drinkers was defending the zach trade for not overlapping with existing strengths/weaknesses- and I said we could just add Camby to our front line- Zach, Curry, Camby & Lee- this is the NY Knicks- you can never have enough overpaid players that can't do the job

We never will be high or lucky enough to get top 3 pick. Lets say we are at old stopping grounds 7-9---I will pick Chris Douglas-Roberts and offer full MLE to Josh Childress which Atlanta can't match. That will give me new RIP[Roberts]@ SG and effecient long player]Childress] who is also still improving and young. I will put Jamal[6-5] at PG Roberts[6-6 at SG and Childress 6-8 at SF

Jamal shouldn't start for one or be on this roster for two. Terrible player and even worse if put at PG.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

we just drafted a SF in the 1st round who we haven't even played yet to see what he can do & you wanna sign a guy like Josh Childress to a full MLE next season? where is the front court defense & shotblocking this team is lacking going to be addressed?

If Wilson Chandler is good enough to start NBA basketball--we will find out--but I will move on with things. IMHO--we could plug CDR into starting 2 right now and I feel comfortable he will improve the team and be effecient about it. Josh Childress is no star but if we replaced Q Rich with a player who shoots 50+ percent can defend rebound pass score and play smart effecient basketball/ athletic player--we IMPROVE. Do we have to find something with Zach and Curry--yes--no doubt but I cant figure a plan on that right now. I think what IT wanted with Jefferies is what Childress gives right now but on both ends.

My goal is to find smart % players who play both ways well. I don't need flash. If you find enough guys who shoot 50%--you are going to win games. I dont love JC but Rome was not built in a day--it will take two-3 years of RIGHT moves to rectify this crp.
