If Hill can stay healthy, the Suns got themselves a fine player. What an addition to an already strong team. He's shooting around 50%, he plays good d, passes the ball very well and is a smart, unselfish player.

This guy would have been a superstar for the past seven years if he hadn't been forced to play on an injured ankle in Detroit.

Grant Hill was an amazing player and you get glimpses of it like we did at the start of the 4th Q last night.

I agree, except was he forced? I thought he played on his own free will even though he shouldn't have.

Yeah pretty much. He felt that he should play through the injury (honorable thing to do I guess) before he left for Orlando.

He did it on his own? It was a long time ago I can't remember but I recall him getting injured as early as March and playing on it and then he went down bad in that playoff game.

Regardless isn't it the duty of a team to prevent a player from further harming himself? We're all used to the Knick's policy of getting players on the court as quickly as possible following an injury but I didn't think that was common practice league wide.

don't let last nights game fool you. grant hill like a lot of other washed up players, have great games vs the knicks. I watched most of the suns games this year and grant is brick city, either that, or he is driving the lanes and getting called for offensive fouls. Grant is still a smart player and understands how to play, that is how he can look so good vs a low IQ ball team like the knicks....

I couldn't figure out why they kept Q on Hill in the 4th. JJ would have matched well with his size.

Grant isn't really washed up. He's physically limited, but don't mistake that for washed up. He's a basketball natural who does all the right things on the court. And now he's a very high percentage player.

The Suns are making a mistake playing him 35 mpg though. He's not gonna make it through the season at that rate.

He went through so many ankle injuries, which must have been really frustrating. I'm happy for him that he's healthy and able to play at a high level. I'm happy for McDyess too for the same reasons.

He also had 2 botched ankle surgeries and a staph infection that were what really sanked his career. He should have only missed 1-2 years from his decision to play for Detroit in that last playoff series, but the botched surgeries and the staph infection cost him about 4 more years.

people forget Grant was like the Lebron before Lebron. He was gonna be a superstar!! Hes smart, and skilled, but them injuries costed him a shot at the hall of fame, because he was on track with those numbers he was putting up.

Its a shame.

He's still a 20-7-5 guy in 650 career games. He had 5-6 very good years before he got hurt. He could still be a hall of famer. I'd put him in there if I had a vote.

I remember Jalen Rose had a good game against is in the 05-06 season. Then the Knicks acquired him and he really stunk up the joint.

Grant was incredible back in the day. I say that like it was so long ago, because it feels long ago, but it really wasn't. It's an absolute shame what injuries have done to his career and Ken Griffey Jrs.

If he wins a championship with the Suns and can have one more solid season, I think he will have a real shot at the Hall of Fame. You have to remember that it is the "Basketball" Hall of Fame, not the "NBA" Hall of Fame, so Hill's college career would come into play. He clearly was one of the most successful college players of all-time. His college career and a NBA championship ring would give him a good shot at getting voted in.

That's a damn good point. Isiah may have failed at putting together a team but now he's failing at utilizing his own assets. This would have been a moment to get Jeffries in there.

However it occurred in about 90 seconds time (Hill going off). Is 90 seconds enough time to digest what you are seeing and call timeout? Should he have called timeout when Hill hit that second jumper to go on the 5-0 run? I don't know.... I guess the third jump shot to make it a 7-0 run WAS where you call the TO - not wait for the FOURTH CONSECUTIVE jumper.

LOL TKF he's shooting 49%FG and 32%FG from 3pts range. Which proves his 2pt fg% is much higher than 49%. He has 55FTA on the yr which means he's going to line 4X's/gm and he hitting 87% of those. Face it the guy is having a bounce back yr considering his age and vs his previous 4yrs. Every player in this league appears to be a scrub, washed up, bum, has been, NBDL caliber player to you yet perform better than any player we have when we face them.
