I saw something that I can't remember where, about the Milwaukee win being a game that saved Isiah's job. I saw over on the espn board a headline that isiah's job was on the line against the Suns game, in which the Knicks lost. Now that we know what happened to Marbury's father, that will probably fall through. It was a heading that I could not pull up, let alone post here. Are any of you hearing simular things about Isiah? It sounds like his job could end at any time now.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I saw a link on the ESPN NBA page link to ESPN insider regarding the story 4949 is referring to. I don't have insider, so I didn't read the article.

It's on the bottom of 'espnheadlines' section. It's actually called Rumor Central, but take a look. I pull it up and don't see anything specific. I think maybe you have to become a member.

It's just regurgitation of what's been mentioned locally in New York.

It must've been a typo. They probably meant his job was on the line 2 nights ago. If you click the link, they have no mention of it other than a November 30th article that Isiah may alter the lineup for the Bucks game.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Auh yes, here it is:

Source: Comeback against Bucks saves Isiah Thomas, Knick coaches
BY FRANK ISOLA
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
Sunday, December 2nd 2007, 4:00 AM

Friday's comeback win over the Bucks saved Isiah Thomas' job ...
Simmons/News
... and spared members of his staff, like coach Mark Aguirre (l.).
Isiah Thomas' claim that coaching in New York is like being on death row every day is a feeling that his assistant coaches apparently experienced Friday night as well.
According to a source, before the Knicks' dramatic comeback victory over Milwaukee, at least two assistant coaches said that if the team suffered another blowout loss they were convinced that Thomas and the coaching staff would be fired. Three hours later, the Knicks overcame a 17-point, second-half deficit and won in the final minute.
Garden chairman James Dolan, who has not spoken publicly on Thomas' job status since last March, was not seated in his customary baseline seats at the Garden for a third straight home game. There is a possibility that Dolan could have watched any one of the last three home games from a luxury suite. Garden president Steve Mills also was conspicuously absent.
It is unclear if the two assistant coaches had been told by Thomas that no one would survive another ugly loss or if the coaches based their feelings on the fallout from an embarrassing 45-point defeat to Boston one night earlier on national television.
During the TNT broadcast, studio analyst Charles Barkley speculated about Thomas' job security, saying, "He's about as safe as me in a room full of cookies. If I'm in a room full of cookies, the cookies ain't got no damn chance."
Later, Barkley said that if the Knicks lost to Milwaukee, "I think it could be (Thomas') last game."
Thomas has five full-time assistant coaches on his bench, not including player development coach Greg Brittenham. Thomas was responsible for hiring Brendan Suhr, Mark Aguirre and George Glymph. Dave Hanners was brought in by Larry Brown, while Herb Williams was originally hired by Don Chaney. The Knicks do not allow their assistant coaches to be interviewed.
Thomas is under tremendous pressure to win now, and the fact that he hasn't received public support from either Dolan nor Mills is both telling and unfair to his entire staff. One week ago, Thomas told reporters that he didn't anticipate a coaching change being made but he wouldn't say whether Dolan had told him that.
Thomas never misses an opportunity to support his case that he deserves more time, and yesterday he reminded reporters that the Knicks, who play host to Phoenix tonight, have won three of their last four games. That streak includes Monday's 113-109 win over Utah, the Knicks' most impressive performance of the month. Two days later, they suffered one of the most humiliating losses in franchise history, a 104-59 debacle in Boston. They finished November with a 5-10 record.
"With the exception of the way we played in Boston, (things) are going well," Thomas said after yesterday's practice. "And I have no issues or problems with the team or the way anybody is playing. I'm feeling good about us."
Thomas desperately wants to paint a picture that the Knicks are not a house divided, although there is mounting trouble in the locker room. Thomas' relationship with Marbury is on the rocks, or as one assistant coach said of Marbury on Friday, "He's got to go."
The coaches also are losing patience with Eddy Curry, whose defensive shortcomings are being exposed each night. Thomas, however, denied that he is disappointed in Curry's play.
"With Eddy we've just got to find a way for him to impact the game on the defensive side of the ball," Thomas said.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think this has been a part of the motivation to beat Utah and Milwaukee. Boston was a set back and the Suns game earlier would have been another set back, until we got the bad news. This proves that his jobs on the line and further set backs could mean he's actually gone soon. According to the reports from two of the coaches, they seemed convinced of it.
I'll never trust this' team again.
