Oh come on. You mean to tell me if we stayed down by those 16 points and lost that Isiah would have gotten fired!?

If that's true SCREW DOLAN. I can't see this being true in all honesty. If it is then it's a really sad day for Knick fans knowing that the comeback just delayed our team's healing indefinitely.

New York Daily News -
Isiah Thomas' claim that coaching in New York is like being on death row every day is a feeling that his assistant coaches apparently experienced Friday night as well.

According to a source, before the Knicks' dramatic comeback victory over Milwaukee, at least two assistant coaches said that if the team suffered another blowout loss they were convinced that Thomas and the coaching staff would be fired. Three hours later, the Knicks overcame a 17-point, second-half deficit and won in the final minute.

Garden chairman James Dolan, who has not spoken publicly on Thomas' job status since last March, was not seated in his customary baseline seats at the Garden for a third straight home game, according to the New York Daily News. There is a possibility that Dolan could have watched any one of the last three home games from a luxury suite. Garden president Steve Mills also was conspicuously absent.

I'm glad this one game determined who our GM was. We have a very intelligent owner who knows how to run an organization.

Please I don't buy it. This is the same daily news that predicted Isiah would have been fired after 6 games. The way Isiah was speaking in the press conference before the Bucks game did not sound like a man that was about to get fired. Isiah kept on saying before the Bucks game, "If we win would have won 3 out of 4 games." You can bet that is the same nonsense he told Dolan.

Zeke ain't going anywhere if they lost the next 10 games in a row. Nothing can be done until this appeal in court is settled.Zeke and Dolan are joined to the hip. Plus they would have to pay Zeke 24 million dollars and this team might be lottery bound any way. If they are going to loose then let Zeke run out the season and get a franchise player. We need that. You guys keep talking about James , Kobe, and other superstars and guess what!!! They ain't coming to NewYork yet you keep putting these dream trades together. For what I don't know. Maybe it's to make you feel good. The lottery #1 or 2 pick. is the only way.

I think people post trade ideas and other stuff as a way to dream of better things, and also just to stimulate conversation on the forum. The forum serves a social function as well as being a place to talk about the Knicks. All the talk isn't necessarily practical. Sometimes it is speculative and fantastical. Sometimes it's just venting.

I agree with you on the lottery and fantasy trade subjects, but I don’t think keeping Isiah is good for the team.
If we want to get one of the lottery picks, we need to think now how to structure the team, to make maximum of this. Isiah is focused on winning games at all cost. This will not only degrade our chances in lottery, but also cancel all efforts to balance the team and check what we have on hand already and what we need to add/subtract.
Wise owner will change GM/coach now, to use this season like a testing time, but we know who we are dealing with.
As for the Anucha , I believe it will beneficial for MSG to distant itself from Isiah before the trial.
And try to pressure IT for the contract settlement, threatening him to leave him alone on Anucha case.

After the sexual harrassment case this summer, (dragging the organization through the mud)
The whole Marbury being sent home fiasco, (another hit on the organization)
Inserting Marb into the game after ignoring a team vote he asked for
The 45 point slaughtering on national TV (another blow)
The constant booing/ and calling for his firing at home
Local and National publications calling for his head
The punchline to most late night talk show host jokes.....

and still this guy has a job. If he can survive all of the above mentioned (which all occured basically in one month, never mind all the embarrassments that have happened since his tenure has began) I dont buy the idea that he woud have lost his job after losing to the Bucks. For somenone like Dolan who is ultra concerned about the image of this team, it just doesn't make much sense on the surface as to why Isiah still has a job.

I haven't followed the case too closely, but I think it is unlikely that Dolan would need to keep Isiah around for the appeal. I am not sure exactly what the grounds for the appeal are, but I think it is an excessive verdict. The appeal would not require any more testimony, so I think the only thing that would hurt the knicks is if Isiah came out publicly and said something extremely stupid like "Yeah, I harrassed that black bit*h."

Of course, the judge could order a retrial, in which case Isiah would have to testify again. This is extremely unlikely. However, if there was any case for that(likely there is not), the garden lawyers would know. Since, I don't think that is the case, I think it is unlikely that Dolan is keeping Isiah around because of the lawsuit.

Its funny that after all of what you mentioned, theres still this concept about James Dolan caring about the teams image. Hes like Dick Cheney in caring about the image of the administration. Doesnt matter whats done, as long as you still believe you can spin the media to what you want. And in their deluded spoiled minds they feel lying and media blackouts are the best way out.
