In an incredible display of surrender, with 8:09 left and the Celtics mounting a 50-point lead on Eddie House's jumper, a Knicks fan sitting behind the basket ripped off his blue Knicks jersey, threw it onto the court in a rage and marched up the stairs and out of the building as Celtics fans applauded.

Dolan had to see this. He has to make changes.

Dolan's a strange man. He has so much money, he doesn't look at things the way a normal person would. Who knows what he'll do

I can't give up on rooting for this team, but there is absolutely nothing I like about them right now and there are many things I deplore about them.

Don't worry - these teams have nothing to do with Knicks.
This is Isiah Tomas team and we have very good chance to start building again.
When he will be gone he will take all this crap with him.
And it doesn't matter how the team will play after this - we will be able to root for any minimal improvement. The hater/lover division will be over and we will be as one again.

the sad thing is, you know if someone threw a knicks jersey on the floor at the garden, they'd be arrested by security and banned from the garden forever. we can't have reality seeping into MSG...

Are you sure?
Somebody can get good money in the court if they will do this. Remember Anucha...

According to the Post at one point, even the Celtics fans were chanting "Fire Isiah"......

Dolan won't make changes... he doesn't want to pay Isiah his full contract. The soonest I see Isiah getting fired is after the sexual harassment case.

I just wish Thomas would go on an official leave of absence to prepare for the case until Dolan is ready to fire him.

I've recalled other franchises removing GMs or Coaches who have a lot of money left and instead of firing them they REASSIGN them within the organization.

It's the equivalent of being sent home with pay.

You could reassign Isiah as lead scout.

The problem is....to Isiah it's the same as firing him so he'd simply turn on Dolan and MSG in the 11.6M appeal and subsequent hearing for the addition 10M.

Marbury has Isiah by the balls.....Isiah has Mills and Dolan by the balls.

What a disaster this is. In the meantime we WILL suffer as fans until the court crap plays out. Once that's done then you'll see the next phase which will be Dolan trying to squash Isiah and make him fight for his money.

I agree, I have to admit, this is the very first time as a Knick fan that I've never liked at least one player on any Knick squad. And that has been since Isiah came into town. I mean not one. No one is consistent enough to even be worth rooting for. He's added no one of caliber to this team whatsoever. And when I say caliber, I'm not necessarily talking about an all-star but just players that are professsional, those who actually care about the game and what they bring. I mean there've been countless players that I've loved on this team (Hubert Davis, Charlie Ward, even Chris Dudley) that may have not been the best players at their position but they at least worked the butts off to be the best that they could be and brought their A-game mostly every night.

These is the worst, and I mean from top to bottom, group of selfish unmotivated group of players on ONE team that I've ever seen. I mean the eniire roster. When we lost in the late 80's and 90's we at least lost with class. I mean, you could always see the frustration of losing on Ewing's face. These knuckles heads, yeah there upset but I think their more upset by being embarrased then by actually losing.

I don't understand Isiah at all. Even after such a monumental loss, he still denied the obvious by saying his team did not quit on him. I mean, I am usually the person that gives everyone a chance (actually chance after chance) but at this point, this team and their management have proven to me, just by the way in which they're losing, that they don't have what it takes to get the job done. Isiah sucks as a GM and he sucks as a coach. He consisently since he's been here, but in underachiever after underachiever. Always with the hopes that he could somehow magically re-develop them into better players. To me, he doesn't have the know how to do that. I mean to not focus Curry on defense, rebounding as a center is baffiling to me. How could you not want to at least try to develop those skills with someone of Curry's size.

I have been a Knick fan since I was in the 8th grade (long time) and even after all of our disspointing times, this is the most I've been embarrased of the Knicks. This team doesn't even try or care.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

I don't like Isiah very much as a GM or coach but I think the media restrictions put on Isiah don't allow him to be negative in the least, or at least don't allow Isiah to be as candid as he would like.

I want to show restraint right now and not pile on Isiah, because I'm liable to get carried away in hyperbole. That said, any criticism of his regime and his performance is fair game at this point. I'll just say that I am really sad right now. While basketball is just a diversion, this Knick team is really affecting me. That loss actually hurt me, and I dont think I have ever said that about a game so inconsequential. Even in down times there is a certain amount of pride associated with being a fan, especially, for me, a Knicks fan. Some of my greatest memories are of my father and I enjoying Knicks games. I'm having a hard time calling myself a Knicks fan right now. Something, HAS to be done or else there could be a fan led uprising. I just cant believe it has come to this.

This stretch has been a slap in the face to the city and the franchise.

Hmm...interesting thought. I agree with that to some degree, but because his coaching style and trading/drafting choices have been so irresponsible, It's hard for me to believe that he really gets it. The team is horribly defensively and even if he was preaching it behind the scenes, they don't certainly display any evidence of it on the court.

Still hard to believe that Zeke a "bad boy" could assemble a team like this

You also have to consider that if Isiah admits the team quit on him, he'd be admitting that he brought together a bunch of quitters. And he'd be admitting that his coaching skills are so poor that the team of guys he assembled, and gave enormous contracts to, and gave up extremely valuable draft picks for, quit on him. That's basically like saying "fire me".
