Like I said, I look at the bigger picture. I don't consider 4-9 a championship team after 4 years. We were supposed to be better than this. That's what we were told and some you even believed it. I can bring up the predictions people had for November. People were saying 10-5, 9-6, 8-7, whatever. I don't think anyone put down 5-10(potential record) or 4-11 or even(for the optimists) 6-9.

Everyone agreed that we needed a quick start and not another slow one. Low and behold we had another slow start. But I never cared about an 8th seed with 40 wins. I know this team's limitations and where we are going. Unfortunately today's Knicks fans have dealt with so much agony that they consider the mediocrity we are in as a very exciting thing. I don't. We had this exact game last year against the Jazz with a more depleted team. Actually, we had a game like this against the Nuggets 3 weeks ago and followed it up with duds against Miami and Orlando. Did that jumpstart the season? Did we go deep in the playoffs? No, we ended up with 33 wins. I can appreciate a good effort but you don't go 3-9 to have your first real good effort of the year. And we like to talk about effort because the Knicks never seem to try. When they do, it's a shock. It's not like the Jazz weren't battling either. Both teams were shooting over 50%. It was one of those days.

A few days ago some people here were notably absent while others were screaming to fire Isiah. 2 wins later people re-appear out of the shadows and the ones that were screaming have since become calm. Unlike the people who have settled for mediocrity, I want to win a championship in my lifetime.

I can enjoy good efforts when they are given consistently and I can enjoy them more when we are an actual contender. This is no longer a "transition year" and really the other seasons never were either. This team was built as a playoff bubble team and not a championship contender team.

I'll tell you this: If this team somehow in miracle fashion turns into a championship contender, I'll bow down to Isiah and apologize to him and everyone else. But not even the biggest Isiah Thomas fan can tell me that is possible. I am just looking at the bigger picture. I am looking at getting out of mediocrity. We've always been too good to get a top draft pick and too bad to make the playoffs or a least make any noise there. I am sick of that. I want a clear-cut plan and not spin-jobs and false promises and crappy patch-up trades. I want a team that is - yes - formidable.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Lets get to mediocrity first. Then we will take it from there.

Are you kidding me? We've been in mediocrity since Layden, save the Larry Brown tank year.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

LOL. Poor choice though, because I don't get what I need. Knicks are a depressing franchise and always will be till they escape the duldrums of mediocrity.

1. Let's be realistic. A poor start isn't what we wanted, but it's not a death blow. There's just too much season left. Looking at the situation it's clear that a lot of things came together to cause the early problems, but underneath it all, there is a team here that has the ability to compete against the better teams in this league.

2. No one should be satisfied with merely making the 8th seed and being bounced in the 1st rd. I don't think this team is that bad and thankfully there's plenty of time to make up for the poor start and look to grab a higher playoff seed.

3. Who cares about who posted here or not during the losing streak? Who cares if Knick fans are happy about the 2 wins? That's just the nature of fandom during winning or losing.

4. Who is it that has settled for mediocrity? Who exactly are you referring too? From what I can see this team is much more ready to move forward and continue to look to improve the roster than ever before. This isn't just some playoff bubble team. It takes time and good fortune to build a contender. How is Chicago's plan working out so far? Boston totally dropped their youth movement and went for the gusto. That's the only way you can jump several steps and get to a contender.

Jamal = 27
Quentin = 27
Zach = 26
Jared = 26
Curry = 24, soon to be 25 in Dec.
Lee = 24
Balkman = 23
Mardy = 23
Nate = 23
Morris =21
Chan 20

We have a reasonably youthful roster and time to still add the missing pieces. If this was an old team with no future that would be one thing to be upset about, but that's not the case. We still have our draft pick and the usual other options to try to improve the team. We've got time and opportunity to still mold this team into a contender.

UH, Chicago is having a tough year for a number of reasons but let's not throw away the fact that they rebuilt and did it successfully and won 49 games last season with a youthful squad. I don't want to hear about how young our players are because most of them are 6, 7 year veterans. I don't hear many people still touting Kwame Brown. Face it, some of these players are what they are.

They have a team full of players ready to trade to get a star. Regardless if they haven't won jack in 7 years, they've won more than us in that timespan and if we want to talk about titles we haven't won won in over 30 years!

I'm a fan of the team. People need to end the typical "if you don't like it, stop watching" crap. I am a diehard fan with an opinion. If you enjoy our current state and the past 5 yearsn of futility prior then more power to you.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

the reason fans like GK keep watching is because they hope for things to get better... what the hell's so hard to understand about that? who the hell roots for a team to be mediocre every year? i sure as hell don't... i wanna see a championship before i croak just like GK does... i completely feel where he's coming from... the sooner fans start to stop accepting mediocrity as a perennial goal, the sooner this franchise might finally wake up to the fact that just making the playoffs isn't enough anymore... we want CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NY!

IMO from what i've seen, this team needs an infusion of perimeter shooting and passing. Just a little more to insure that we always have enough even when one of our guys has an off night. We have great post scoring and now it seems like the team has begun to develop defensive chemistry. As some of us have been pointing out, it's become clear that when we get perimeter shooting and passing, this team looks like a team that can compete with anyone. Steph, Jamal and Q are the key to this team winning or losing. We can score inside, rebound and even defend a little, but we MUST get good play from our perimeter players.

This isn't about mediocrity at all. This is about continuing to build and develop this team. We need to stop acting like this team has no future, when clearly we have a lot of upside left on this team. The only thing i'm concerned about is the future of the PG spot after Steph is gone. I'd look to use our pick on a PG this year. If we can add another shooter this season via trade that would really help this team to reach another level.

GKFv2 - opinion?

Your "opinion" during last night's win sounds more like a cry for help.

All GKFv2 - (verbatum with the aid of skotch brand tape) This could be another depressing night. I hate this team. Will win enough to get a low pick and lose enough to miss the playoffs. Same **** every year. Isiah lives on. We are cursed!

Boooooooooooooooooooring.

Watch them win today and get blown out tomorrow and lose 5 in a row. I don't believe in this team. People like nixluva need these type of games to back them up that Isiah is God.

No. God hates the fans. Isiah will get a 15 year extension now.

I hate my life.

this team needs an infusion of superstar/all star talent.

This isn't football or baseball where having a lot of 'good' players can make you great.

Teams that go far in the playoffs have the best players in the game.

We don't have a top ten player. And I doubt we even have a top 20 talent.

Ummm detroit just went to the finals twice in a row. Not one of their starting five is one of the "best players in the game."

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...
