People can hate on EC all they want--but the reality is you need a guy like him. Like I said yestderday the problem lies everywhere else. You can count on eddy for 20-7- 60% and who else can I count on for effecient production like that except Lee off the bench? Zach is OK you can count on him for numbers but it's not effecient play and he doesnt fit well with Eddy other than some high low passing.

How many turnovers, missed free throws and blown defensive rotations can you count on him for?
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

I agree every team in the league would like to have Curry on their roster..... but to play 20 minutes coming off the bench!!!!

Curry-> 8 boards per 40 mins (career BEST)
Nate-> 7 boards per 40 mins

I bet if Nate played in the paint he would grab more boards than him.
Ok, ok, I stop my Curry bashing... BRIGGS, I respect your opinion about him

i doubt the Bulls want Curry back... they're probably pretty pissed that they traded LeMarcus Aldridge for Ty Thomas tho.

i think Curry's still got room to improve as a player, but if the right deal comes along that addresses a major need on this team using him as a trade piece, i'm all for it.

The guy gets an amazing amount of flak for what he isn't.. meanwhile.. he's a ridiculous athlete that's a mismatch for all but a few teams. He's not Dwight Howard.. but he's a more unique player than most here give him credit for. I see him improving a bunch, this year.. in his help defense. Weak side shot blocking and the like.

He and Lee are a good complement to one another. He and Zach, not so much. I'd love us to build Zach's numbers for trading.. then get rid of his contract for a shorter one.. and a pick.

They have run the organization close to perfection for the last couple of yrs. Of course our dumbness could be the reason why they have run close to perfection. So its crazy to see only 2 poor decisions set them back like this. Trading Chandler away & signing Ben Wallace. Trading Aldridge for Ty Thomas. Chandler & Aldridge frontcout they would have added Noah this yr and had a very young, tall, long, atheltic frontcourt.

It's all moot. I don't see any quality at all in what your saying. It's weak talk. It's a like a salesmen, trying to convince some poor old soul on the street to buy 'one' old sneaker they found in the garbage can. 'Its a great deal'!

I know there's nothig left to beleive in, but come on man. Don't be pathic now. It's okay to bash this rock band. 'Eddie and the Coocheads'. Try it. You'll feel a lot better.

I don't enjoy watching Eddy Curry. I don't like his game at all. What exactly does Eddy Curry do that would make you want to watch him? What makes basketball enjoyable to watch for me is great passing, great defense, moving without the ball and good outside shooting. If I couldn't get a #1 pick for him, I would buy out that fat f* ck in a heartbeat.

I HATE Zach Randolph too.

Seven seasons later, I hear he's still' improving. I guess we haven't seen the best of him yet and that' should be coming in about another................eight years. Maybe rather than surround him with talented players now, we can surround him 'around his best year to come' instead. In about eight years, that should be just about enough to squeeze us into the eigth spot. YESSSSS! Then those who never gave up on him can tell us 'see I told you so. You where wrong about Curry'! Meanwhile Tim Duncan's wrapping it up with about six, maybe seven trophies. What a bargain we have, huh guys?
I'll never trust this' team again.

If anything, the Bulls probably wish they had Aldridge and Chandler back (and Elton Brand actually). The Curry trade was one of the best trades for them in their franchise history. However, they then f'd it up with poor use of the four draft picks we gave them.

Briggs- what are the '7' in 20-7? 7 Turnovers? 7 Rebounds that he allows other players from opposing teams to get?

Whatever the 7 stands for, it's definitely inferior to Marbury's career 20 & 8.

this was the chain of events which lead to eddy's departure:

1. spring of the 03/04 season, eddy had his first irregular heartbeat (which was not disclosed)

2. spring of 04/05, eddy had his 2nd which shut him down for the rest of the season (which we knew about)

3. eddy became a restricted free agent in the summer of 2005. he asks for $50+ mil. reinsdorf (bulls owner) said he was not going to give eddy a guaranteed deal like that without taking a dna test (on his doctor's advice). as a sign of somewhat good faith, if he didn't take the test, they still had lifetime offer on the table for $20 mil where he would still get $1 mil a year (for 20 years) for doing absolutely nothing.

4. isiah swooped in an gauranteed curry 3 years $30, which automatically goes to 6 years $60 based on games played...a contract only a few teams would guarantee with his history of heart problems. this is where dolan's money came in useful.

so paxson never really wanted to lose eddy, but reinsdorf was not going to shell out the big bucks. paxson basically cornered with nowhere to turn got the best deal he could for eddy. knicks got what they want. bulls got the best that they could get.

eddy's pros: the dude catches the ball within 5 feet of the basket and it's automatic or he draws a foul. he is VERY good in that department. but that's where it ends.

eddy's cons: does not make his teammates better. does not play defense.

the big question, and only real question with him is whether his pros outweigh his cons?

Not sure how you can say that this was the best trade in Bulls history. Thomas and Noah have not done enough to warrant such praise yet, while they are desperate for low post scoring.

I made the same comment Briggs made, as well as someone else I believe, yesterday, or the day before. I think they'd rather have Tyson Chandler and Curry now.

I think part of the problem right now is that this team is not getting the kind of solid perimeter play that we need. It's not totally Curry's fault or Zach's for that matter when it comes to the high TO's. We have to get better entry passes and also better shooting from the perimeter than we've been getting. When we don't get that, guys like Zach and Eddy press the issue and make bad decisions. Zach has tried to force the issue a bit too much and I don't think he'd do that if we were getting the kind of shooting from Jamal and Q that we should be. We had low TO's in the 1st 3 games primarily because the perimeter game was strong.

I was taking the Bulls to task last year and I still feel the same way about what Paxson has done. Now tho it's even worse. Joe Smith is not the answer and I don't think Thomas or Noah is either. Ben was old when they got him and really didn't solve any of their post scoring issues. People like to bash Isiah for his redundant moves, but Pax has done an even worse job of rounding out his team. With all his draft picks and Cap space he ended up with ZERO balance on the floor. No Superstar player or All Stars for that matter. Yeah they play hard and overachieve, but the team is fundamentally flawed. Small guards that can really shoot and hustle and athletic forwards that hustle, but no post game. Now with the guards not shooting well, they have nothing to fall back on. In comparison, we have a much easier problem to solve. Good SG's are FAR more plentiful and easy to find than really good bigs. If we can't get what we need from our current guards, we'll be able to find help at some point down the line.

the ben wallace signing was 100% engineered by reinsdorf. he and ben's agent are buddy buddy, so they worked out a deal to bring ben to detroit. b/c of this, and b/c of his mandate to paxson to avoid luxury tax at all costs, he basically had to dump tyson for expiring deals.

I agree BRIGGS Curry isn't the problem with the Knicks. He is steady Eddy. He produces on low shot attempts gets decent amount of rebs. 7 rebounds isn't that aweful at all. can he improve on it yes he can but Rebounds aren't everything. He makes his counterpart work hard on the offensive end.
Now if you want to get to problems with the Knicks you first have to start with peimeter play very lacking in that dept. Q-Rich is finished as an offensive player. He was shooting poorly even before his elbow injury. Crawford seems lost out there and Marbury is a poor perimeter shooter too he and Nate might be their best right now which isn't saying much. Lee, Balkman and Jefferies have the same sort of perimeter game basically nonexistant.

I would like to see Chandler get run at sf as he has a decent midrange game probably better that all the Knicks perimeter players.

Eddy is the least of anyones problems, the problem with NYK fans is that they ofen compare every player to someone of higher skill level in certain dept that Curry doesn't do well in and want those type of players. For instant Camby plays defense well so people on the board want him, but they don't look at the fact that he is a below average offensive player. they want Dalembert over Curry, they see one game where he blocks shot and all of a sudden he is a defensive player of the year but they don't see his inept offensive skills. I like a defensive stand out as much as anyone else here but I guarantee you that you will find life without a scorer miserable not all the shot blocks is gonna convince anyone that they are a good NBA player. Everyone want a Dwight Howard but who is gonna give you one of those players there aren't many like him availabe so I'm happy to have Eddy Curry who might not be Howard but he is good in his own rights.
I bet the Bulls wish they had Eddy Curry back
