For the past 3 or 4 seasons at some point we have had a major meltdown. We have blamed coaching, injuries, too much dust in the air. I was curious as to what everyone feels are the reasons for the repetitive yearly meltdowns.

Lack of a leader. If you look at the success that the celtics are heaving this year, its not only due to their upgrade in talent. Garnett is such a driven player that he motivates his entire team to play at their best. Thats why we go on these long losing streaks despite having a talented team, we have noone.

At this point Marbury will never have the credibility to ever be a leader. His team hates him. Hes a weirdo and an *******. Curry and crawford lack that fire that enable a man to want to step into that role and lead the team. Q and Rose are probably the closest that we have, but they are both so bad that the cant put their money where their mouth is.

We need to DUMP steph. He is more of a problem than Isiah, undermining him in public, on the court, and (god can only imagine) in the locker room. We need to SEND HIM HOME. I think Isiah can still pull these guys together, but we need to rid ourselves of the cancer first.

Maybe Lee or Randolph can emerge as out leader. Maybe wee can trade or draft that type of player. But right now, we need to dump this mope "star"bury. Then see us come together. And lets be honest, at this point in his career, I think Nate Robinson is as good if not better.

We always have unfortunate distractions and have never had a full season where we got a valid assessment of the team.

I don't want to throw Marbs under the bus. He's a major contributor to the lack of success here but I think the problems go deeper than him. I think if you put Marbs on the Pistons or the Spurs his poor attitude would be overpowered. Eventually he would be driven out of town. The problem in NY is that we have lowered our standards so much that a guy like Marbs can cause problems for 3 straight years without consequence. We actually give him more power after each event. The Owner, the GM, the players and the fans have all contributed to an atmosphere where it is simply okay to focus on things other than winning basketball games. Add in the lack of leadership on the court, and the fragility of the players and everytime something goes wrong there is a negative response to it.

What is it you think the fans have done to contribute to this mess?

Buy tickets?

Yes, kind of. I think the fact that there is a surge in tickets everytime we are starphuched is the fans saying "you don't have to get defense, 2 way players, shooters, PG's or anyone that fits a plan. All you have to do is find someone new and I will buy tickets". Our blame stops there, but it's definitely a contributing factor. As long as we line Dolan's pockets for an underachieving, constantly embarrassing product the more we support his efforts. WE are 2-9. If we rattle of 3 straight wins, none of our problems go away, but the garden will be refilled.

coaching, the wrong system, the fans, Scott Layden & Larry Brown are the reasons why this team still stinks right now.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I thought it was obvious. suckbury plays a major role in most of it.
I'll never trust this' team again.

You know who the luckiest man on the Knicks is? Jerome James. All he has to do is sit back and collect those millions. Doesn't have to answer to no one. That would explain the big smile on his face. All the more power to him. Where else can you get a job like that? I mean really?
I'll never trust this' team again.
