How is that emotionless

I largely agree.
1. Send Marbury home "Conduct Detrimental to the Team" awaiting buyout.
2. Fire Isiah Thomas.
3. Appoint Herb Williams interim coach. (Or hanners as some have suggested)
4. Appoint Grunwald interim GM (but dont let him do anything)
(SEASON ENDS)
5. Demote Herb, Fire Grunwald.
6. Fire Mills, Hire a guy like Colangelo to be Garden President.
7. Allow Colangelo to hire the Knicks new GM.
8. Grant Malik Rose his request to leave the team - buy him out.
9. Waive Jerome James.
10. Trade Crawford and Curry for expirings (even 09s) and picks and consumate pros making little money.
11. Call up those five teams that wanted Zach Randolph and take the best offer.
I think at this point you have cleaned out the really big problems. You are now left with mediocre kids from late 1st rounders but you play them to see what you have BEFORE you make any more moves.
This is about purging the roster fully of Isiah's mistakes - NOT trying to rebuild on the fly of which we have failed miserably at.
Perhaps by the summer of 2009 - but more likely the summer of 2010 we can start making moves to improve the team. By then we'd know what we have in the kids and draft picks and know what must be done to return the team to the level of at least playoff contender.
