It's simple story:
1. Fire Isiah for incompetence. He will lose the case and will settle for 1/3 if he get lucky
2. pass the team to Herb and Grunf and let them work on interim basis. Look for solid guys for both positions.
3. Fire Mils. Give him a good package to keep his mouth shut.
4. Send Steph home to sell snicks and do charity. Man is good on something so help him to dedicate all his time.
5. Look to trade him for something/anything last year. Spread the news and see if somebody will bite this year. there are a lot of morons in NBA besides Isiah.
6. Try to trade Eddy to get picks or fill the holes.
7. Trade Zack if some retard will agree. If not play him from the bench after Lee
8. Trade Craf or if nobody will want to take the junk, play him from the bench for 15-20 min at SG
9. Buy out Jerom, Jeffries, Q , Jones, Malik or just put them on IR
10. Trade Nate for something/anything useful
11. Start Morris, Lee, balk/Chan, Chan/bulk, Mardy
12. get some d-league players to come from the bench for 15-days money. The guys was OK at Summer League
13. If H20 or Oak wants to have fun let them come and play a bit.
14. After 15-20 wins we should get lucky in the lottery and start to build up

How is that emotionless

I largely agree.

1. Send Marbury home "Conduct Detrimental to the Team" awaiting buyout.
2. Fire Isiah Thomas.
3. Appoint Herb Williams interim coach. (Or hanners as some have suggested)
4. Appoint Grunwald interim GM (but dont let him do anything)
(SEASON ENDS)
5. Demote Herb, Fire Grunwald.
6. Fire Mills, Hire a guy like Colangelo to be Garden President.
7. Allow Colangelo to hire the Knicks new GM.
8. Grant Malik Rose his request to leave the team - buy him out.
9. Waive Jerome James.
10. Trade Crawford and Curry for expirings (even 09s) and picks and consumate pros making little money.
11. Call up those five teams that wanted Zach Randolph and take the best offer.

I think at this point you have cleaned out the really big problems. You are now left with mediocre kids from late 1st rounders but you play them to see what you have BEFORE you make any more moves.

This is about purging the roster fully of Isiah's mistakes - NOT trying to rebuild on the fly of which we have failed miserably at.

Perhaps by the summer of 2009 - but more likely the summer of 2010 we can start making moves to improve the team. By then we'd know what we have in the kids and draft picks and know what must be done to return the team to the level of at least playoff contender.

Fred Jones is an important part of this team. Isiah wisely chose to keep him instead of Demetris Nichols. Buying him out now makes no sense. Whatever other moves you make, Fred Jones will be an integral part of the team's core for years to come. So I'm sure it was a mistake you made in suggesting that he should be bought out.

Don't respond emotionally; don't buy out or trade Fred Jones.

MARDY SUCKS DONKEY BALLS...any d he brings is completely offset by his inability to run any type of offense and his complete lack of shooting skills

1.) Stay the course, unless;
2.) Isiah can't right the ship then fire him
3.) Hire a new coach
4.) Stay the course.

I agree and support this 100%.

Fire Isiah Thomas
Ban Stephon Marbury from the team
Trade Eddy Curry and Jamal Crawford for 09 contracts.

It's not that hard to be honest.

It will take a GM with a proven track record and a history of success to have the cajones to start anew.

here is why dolan won't fire isiah- to do so, he would have to admit he was wrong- and that is something Dolan can't do (see anucha trial).

But- the plan should be to appoint herb on a temp basis unless there is a plan to bring in ewing- ewing as head coach could sell tickets while we go on to a 17 win season.

If steph won't buy in to ewing, send him home with no money- conduct detrimental to 'the franchise'.

If Ewing can't inspire Curry to play defense, trade him- he's not making big bucks, has a buy out option & can have nice role on the right team.

Crawford is next- get him playing a bit better- trade him.

& I think you trade Lee- because I don't think we'll have a team good enough to make use of his talents.

No one talks that much about Glen Grunwald, and I have to say I'm skeptical of anyone Isiah hires, but this guy has a very interesting background. He played college ball at Indiana (with Isiah). But then he went and got a law degree and a JD. He has a lot of real world management experience (he headed to the Toronto Board of Trade for a while) in addition to his NBA experience as VP of the Nuggets and GM of the Raptors.

On the one hand he might just be a croney, on the other hand he could be legitimately competent. Hard to tell.
