Did it again tonight with Harvey. No need to come out for the 7th and he runs him out there he goes over 100 pitches and gives up a tater. Harvey is on a super thin innings count the rest of the way--why waste even 10 pitches up 4 runs?

Got to get Cuddyer out of left field. deGrom threw many more pitches than he needed to throw because of Cuddyer's fielding, and he gave them nothing at the plate. deGrom could have lasted another inning without Cuddyer.

Clippard is another guy I cannot deal with at this point. Cannot depend on him at this point.

What a tough cheap loss. He was out at 2 nd bass that's 2 outs. Also the mets have the same problem in that 7-8 inning I think I use Robles Niece Famalia 7-8-9

He pitched a good game--shouldve been 2 runs in 5 innings--thats all you can ask for from starter 4 as a rookie.

I assume they will go Degroom 5-6 Syndergaard 2-3 and Familia. Thats as good as we can get--thats all I can ask for. I like my chances much better with Greinke than Kleyshaw . In the offseason we need to find 1-2 more pure contact hitters like Murphy. Need to resign Murphy as well. Keep Cespedes and Murphy --try to see if we can trade Wheeler and Niese for 1 really good positional player with some speed and a good middle reliever.

Murphy with another HR...5 games in a row-ties the MLB record.

Not sure deGrom will last tonight, but what a performance by Murphy in the post season.

Added in the top of the 8th...

Totally gutty performance by deGrom. 7 innings only 2 runs, and he seemed to get stronger as the game progressed.

Really surprised me- never thought he would make it as far as he did with the number of runs he gave up.

I think as a fan I need to keep any unbridled enthusiasm curbed. I've always done this with Uconn(the only team that wins that I like:) Id like to think at this point we can see some more production out of hitters 5-6-7-8 and that the Mets are also due for a big output game. But the bottom line in baseball is pitching pitching pitching. I think its fair to say the Mets have the ingredients. A hot hitter a few other guys contributing and great pitching. I actually got a Daniel Murphy jersey "on sale" 6 months ago retail 89.00 I paid 20.00--I think its worth 89 again:)

Know what you mean about the enthusiasm.

Between competing and coaching, and being the son of a coach, I've been involved with team sports for about 45 of my 60 years, and until a match or game is officially over or a series is won, I always think the team or athlete I'm coaching, or the team I'm rooting for, has a chance to lose.

More tension and less enjoyment until the finish, but I expect that many think the same way as I do.

As a HS FB player my team was up by 9 points with less than 4 minutes in a game that would have gotten us a share of the division title.

I remember some of the guys on my team talking about where the post game party was going to be while they were on the sideline waiting for our "inevitable" victory. A muffed punt and two touchdown passes later, and we were going home as losers. Always stuck with me, and 43 years later I can still feel the disappointment.

Odds are in our favor, but we still have the Red Sox victory over the Yankees to remind us that a 3-0 lead is great, but not insurmountable.

Hopefully Matz has a good game today, and the hitting is timely.

Its been a great run so far though.

Its important tonight to get out there and get Matz a lead. My hope is we get 5 innings 2-3 runs. Hes put guys on base and has worked around it--one of these days he wont. His fastball is just a tad slower than others hes in the 92-94 tops range. Id like to close out we may need to hit tonight.

Pretty amazing run so far- made it look pretty easy.

Wish they could start their next series on Friday and keep the momentum going.

All right need to bring it back down and just get ready for next series. Need full concentration and focus. get through this one night celebration--Cespedes has nearly a week to feel better and I think it will go back to Degroom Harvey Syndergaard next week. Jesus Tyler Clippard relies on that fat change up too much.
