It's disgusting.
Why is there such a complete lack of accountability, lack of pride in the NBA.
It is totally all about getting yours and $$$.
By all rights, Isiah should be QUITING his job right if he had any self-respect what-so-ever.
Admit you failed and have some HONOR and move on. Bad enough he's gotten paid many millions
and wasted MANY MANY more millions of his bosses dollars for many years to come.
But he's going to stick around till he's fired to make sure he gets paid the remainder of his
contract.

What an absolute disgrace.

Panos, quitting might be the best thing IT could do for his reputation. To actually say, I failed and should not be paid would show alot of character. However, since this is probably IT's last major NBA job (or at least his last one for another 9-10 years), he is not walking away from that money. Plus, I will say that he tried. You might have thought he was incompetent and you might not have liked him, but you cannot say that he did not try to bring a winner to New York. He just made a series of bad decisions. Dolan should pay him though. He was the one who decided to give IT the extension. He could have given him a one-year deal.

all isiah thomas is...is aggressive. he's no different than dolan in the way he just throws money around without a care in the world. but how can you say he tried to bring a winner to ny? he brought in a coach/team killer to be the franchise. followed up by 2 guys from the bulls who haven't played 1 playoff game. then z-bo and all his one dollar bills.

did he REALLY try to bring a winner to ny?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

The NY Knicks are a contract graveyard.
1. Bad contracts come here to die.
2. Bad contracts are born and never leave, or traded for GOTO: 1

You guys have it wrong, I think.

This is New York. Great players come here to just be good. Good players come here and become mediocre. Mediocre players quickly become 'bad' players under New York pressure.

Isaiah used to be a tough sumnabich. In his old age, he's morphed into a "cool" sumnambich. The issue isn't a lack of pride or accountability, i think. Isaiah's "cool guy" attitude is not what wins in New York; this attitude has infected his roster.

This city has eaten up and spit countless other would-be entrepreneurs, executives, business people and professionals. There's no shame in failing in New York. Suceeding in NY is HARD. But the "I'll just put my head down and block out the boos/media scrutiny and just play basketball" attitude doesn't breed winners out here. It breeds losers.

Only two attitudes will work to help someone suceed in this hostile environment.

1) THE JEFF VANGUNDY APPROACH: Listen, the boos (stress, cost of living, traffic, crime... add in the NY obstacle of your choice) really hurt me. I hate them. I've got to do whatever I can to get them to stop. And I have to do it now.

2) THE PATRICK EWING APPROACH: Phuch the boos (stress, etc...). I couldn't care less what this God-forsaken cesspool of a town throws at me. I'm going to continue to bust my ass no matter what's going on around me. This city can Kiss My Arse.

Isaiah's "block it out... it'll be okay in the end if I think happy thoughts... after all I'm doing the best I can" mentality is the main reason why this team is destined to fail as long as he remains.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

The difference between Patrick and many of the players on the roster is simple:

Our current players are motivated by one or more of the following: Money, adulation, crazy events

Patrick was motivated by one thing and one thing only: Winning for winning sake. Most true competitors are. Doesn't matter what the fans think or the media thinks. He just wanted to win.
I just hope that people will like me
