this group of players are now entering their 3rd year together.

they didn't respond to lb's "right way".
they did respond to isiah's "ice cream party" last year to the tune of 33 wins/3 year extension. mission accomplished.
and now they're not responding to isiah's "it's my team".

ok, so who can coach this bunch? well, maybe i should ask if they're coachable first?

let's make Steph a player coach... next step after that is to let Dolan take his licks & see what happens... the comedy of errors is just beginning.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

80% of this team are offensive-mind players who play no defense, need the ball in their hands to be effective, and whose skills are geared toward one-on-one basketball. A good team should have no more than 1-2 key players with this type of game, but we have a whole starting lineup and some bench players with this type of game. Simply put, we need different players. We need to trade Curry, Crawford, Marbury, Rose, Q, and Jeffries. I like Randolph, Lee, Balkman, Chandler, and Collins. Tank this season (which I hate to do but we are going to lose 60 games anyway so it really does not matter) and pray that the lottery is kind to us. Only a pick like Mayo and some solid trades can turn this team around anytime soon. A competent GM could do it though because our player do have some trade value.

As far as coach, I think the coach ain't the problem. We need new players or at the very least, a new PG and a defensive PF. If you just make those two changes, I think even IT could get us to 40 wins.

...let's make Steph a player coach...

Now, there's an entertaining idea. I'd hate to loose Herb Williams--wait, is Herb is coaching?--but he probably needs a break from the Knicks. How about Zeke playing back up point for a while? How old is Motombo? Zeke can't be much older. It might be hard on the team and the ball boys would quit but I think it's worth it.

When was the last time you saw a Knicks jersey on the street? I think I've seen one Sprewell and and one Anthony in the last year but that's it.

These players suck. Career losers. No coach should be forced to coach this disgrace of a team other than Zeke himself. He deserves it.

When the new GM comes in, he will clean house and hire a good coach.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

A two way PG and PF and some jumpshooters that can open up the floor for Eddie and a franchise player selected in the draft. Then dump some of the vets and replace them with 3 or 4 proven winners and we are back in business.

We are not as close as people think
I just hope that people will like me

Larry Brown

As much as I like Brown, I hope he never considers this place again, considering how he was treated. Personally, I'd like to see him coach someone else and show Dolan the mistakes he's made.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Although I'd love to see Ewing- because Dolan could safely loose 60+ games and still draw crowds every night- as someone pointed out- this is an offensive bunch of players (meant 2 ways) and a great coach would be Paul Westphal. He'd be able to maximize their offensive scoring abilities, might help with reducing turn overs, etc.

who can coach this team?
