CDB i have to agree w/ you. Besides scoring Curry does not help the team.

And what makes it worse is it doesn't look like Kobe is leaving the Lakers anytime soon.

We didn't have a choice of taking Andrew Bynum or Eddy Curry, we had a choice of taking Andrew Bynum or Channing Frye.

If we took Andrew Bynum, we probably wouldn't have needed to take Curry, for the future that is. I would absolutely trade Curry for Bynum though, at this point.

You're correct, but only on technicality. If we had drafted Bynum, we wouldn't have needed Curry.

Well theoretically, after drafting Frye (Isiah's next "Tim Duncan") and signing "prize" free agent Jerome James, essentially giving us 2 centers, we didn't need Curry either.

Would you rather have Randolph and have subtracted Francis or have Bynum?
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

A later mistake (trading for Francis) does not have anything to do with who we could have chosen with the #8 pick in the draft.

LOL.

I was just thinking of how Frye gave Isiah his stamp on a career with the Knicks, that he had to cancel workouts with other teams.

Nice one Isiah. You traded lottery picks for a Chicago born behemoth, and drafted bums with the ones you actually kept.

True, although, Isiah was dead set on the thought that Frye was a PF (for some reason).

I think the obvious thing is that we didn't really need Curry either way and the franchise would've been a lot better off if we took a pass on that one. Bynum is a slightly separate issue, but man.. the thought of Bynum + two very high lottery picks. That would've been sweet.

The problem is it's better to gamle on the draft instead of questionable free agents that summer was a disaster.

1. Jerome James ? Why
2. Q and Nate for Kurt? He is expiring
3. Bynum or Granger? That is what everyone wanted
4. Two lottery selections added
5. Francis trade

Bynum/Thomas/Rose
Aldridge/Lee
?/Balkman
Crawford/
Marbury/Collins

Thats a pretty solid future and a team that would still be taking lumps and getting better with some pics, and even open up Crawford/Balkman plus a pic for Ron Ron

Barely anyone wanted Bynum.

IT was right on Channing Frye--he was Tim Duncan lite. Just take out the Tim Duncan part.

I guess there is no good in comparing anyone. The problem I have is that I believe Curry can be a superstar in his own way[maybe not 14 rebounds and 3 blocks but he CAN be 30-8 60%] not with Randolph.
