S.Phillips is the man....He brought in good proven players (except Mo)....The Mets just have bad luck.

C'mon Pike...You weren't happy when they brought in Alomar for peanuts?

Burntiz a season after hitting 100 RBI and 30+ homers?

Cedeno after stealing 40+ bases and hitting a decent avg?

I never heard you say anything bad about these trades and signings...
Besides the only player...right now...that the Mets traded away that is actually playing good ball is M.Mora.

That's because I haven't talked too much about the Mets with you. Phillips is the only guy who can give Laydumb a run for his money as it applies to the art of ineptitude.

ok..u right..we really don't talk baseball but noone was hating Phillips when he made these trades/signings. The only question mark was the pitching staff...

Steve Phillips was a baseball god two winters ago, a wheeler-dealer lauded for landing Roberto Alomar, Jeromy Burnitz, Roger Cedeño and Mo Vaughn while dumping unproductive players with bloated contracts....

Noone was complaining then......

Some complained, others didn't but you know what... it's not the point. The bottom line is, what happens on the field and when you bring in guys past their prime in their mid to late thirties and you have a 122 million dollar payroll and SUCK... you deserve to get FIRED!!
