Rangers in the sole lead in division.
Winning 5 in a row, 9 of 10.
With the best defense in NHL.
Today all goals against Crosby and Pens scored by defensmens.

Same owner - different stories.

And Isles - Islenders SUCK

The only reason the Rangers are ahead of the Isles is because they've played 4 more games.

The Rags are 0-2 against the Isles this year and it'll be 0-3 after Monday.

the hard salary cap did it- I'd like to think Dolan could get the right person and see similar results with the knicks...

The only reason the Rangers are good is because the Rangers took advantage of a clause in the CBA a few years back that allowed them to release big contracts off their cap for free. And then, fr some unknown reason, Dolan accepted rebuilding. Yes, he doesn't accept rebuilding with the Knicks.

Anyway, they rebuilt and lost for a year but soon were starting to build a foundation and today have one of the best teams in hockey. But, they also have a smart GM in Glen Sather(even though he was there for all the Rangers failures before that) who won Stanley Cup titles with the Oilers.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

yea, but that clause was not exclusive to the rangers, every team benefited, and the rangers are leading their division...

Ok? Every team benefited but the Rangers benefited the most since they were bad contract heaven.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Islanders 2 - Rags 1

Isles 3-0 vs Dolan's overrated hockey team this year.

Oh and arkrud - Rangers SUCK!

It is strange isn't it? Layden, a dope and Isiah a controversial figure. I suppose Dolan tried and both failed. Maybe he'll get it right the next time.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Mobsters? Now that's an interesting point. Hmmm. Could someone be making money 'against' the Knicks?

Why not?
Isiah is THE ULTIMATE GAMBLER.
And we know about a couple of refs from the area and Marbs has some stuff on Isiah which makes him almost piss his pants.
Playa where are you - we need to spin this more!!!

Not a hockey fan, but wasn't the strike the big reason the Rangers were able to finally become good? During the strike time, they were forced into a situation where they couldn't unnecessarily add more big free agent contracts and so were then in a situation where they were able to unload a bunch of vets for a ton of draft picks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that was how it went down.

If the NBA had a two year strike, maybe the Knicks management and owner would consider the same.

This was definitely helpful but the main change came in attitude and direction.
Rangers not only draft good projects but created base to develop them.
They also get players with good attitude, leadership, and hard working mentality.
They get coach with character and sense of direction.
They made a huge shift in public relations to reverse the perception to the team with media and fans.

Their cap situation is excellent.
They have only 2 players with long expensive contracts and both are huge trade assets.
After next year this 2 are the ONLY players on contract.

Is it amazing?
