Mardy Collins is being introduced as the starter. For all purposes of practicality, Mardy is a rookie in terms of experience as he didn't get minutes until the March injury epidemic.

Marbury violated prime directive number 7. You don't quit on your teammates.

Is Collins capable of making the leap forward and growing more comfortable as a leader, or will he choose to keep his desk job as a backup?

Is he the one?

^ he's got to get a shot. Any shot. And then he can be a consistent starter.

Turnovers Must Die

Martin - last April, Mardy seemed to become more productive with his jumper through persistence. I need the Knicks point guard to understand exacctly where his teammates like the ball.

I miss Rick Brunson

Mardy is going to pick the same pill that Frank Williams picked.

That's pretty funny that "Not Quitting" would even have to be a prime directive, much less only #7 on the list. What exactly were the 6 directives above what should be so obvious it shouldn't need to be made a directive? Was breathing one of them?

I really hope you're throughly enjoying this circus misterearl. This is what happens when you do nothing but enable. Don't start complaining about anything now. Just sit back in your lawn chair and reap what you've sowed.

Mardy is a fringe NBA player. It's ridiculous how people overrate these players just because of the jersey they wear. He might show flashes, the way Frank Williams did, but over the long haul, he has no business starting for any NBA team.

I like this move for a couple of reasons.

Mardy may be starting, but he has yet to earn starters minutes.

As a good defender he has kept us from going down 20 by the middle of the 2nd quarter. Works for me.

I'm not convinced he is yet 100%. When he is we might begin to see the player Clyde wanted to work with last year.

Give him a chance to settle down. It's pretty headdy stuff to start in the NBA your second year without being an elite player.

Go Mardy. Go Knicks.

I agree. Mardy looks like he's trying to be conservative out there. He's still defending well, but you can tell that he's not trying to overexert himself. I expect that he'll get better as we move along. I like his game and I think people are judging him too harshly. There are other guards who have started for teams with similarly weak shooting. How often have people suggest an Eric Snow for this team in the past and he's no more impressive offensively. We don't need a superstar PG to win games. We need for Mardy to control the tempo, run the offense and defend. All of these things he's capable of doing. There's no way to know if he's the answer to our starting PG situation longhaul, but at this time I think he's the best candidate.

How do you guys feel about Mardy's knees?

I'm also a Temple alum so you'll have to pardon my bias. I'm happy as hell Mardy is (apparently) now the floor general. All he needs is some minutes.

Anything to get Marbury off the team, but Mardy is really not a point guard. The guy can't run an offense and his passing is average at best. He is a point forward who can play D like Salmons. For coinutinty I would start Nate, JC and Mardy. Pretty much the lineup that got us back into the game(with Marbury playing instead of Nate).

Missed the game but noticed Mardy's 19 minutes were more than Marbury's 16.

Interesting

Now, get Zach settled in and start shooting better than 38% as a team
