Team A
Player 1 20 points 5 rebounds a game
Player 2 18 points and 3 rebounds
Player 3 17 points and 9 rebounds

Team B
Player 1 20 points 4 rebounds
Player 2 19 pints 15 rebounds
Player 3 19 points and 7 rebounds

Team A top 3 players 55 points and 17 rebounds team b is 58 points 26 rebounds a game. The way we look at things Team B is the better team because of stats. Team A is the Spurs team B is the Knicks. It is about team, character, sharing the ball, and being efficient. The Spurs shoot 4% points higher have 4 less turnover a game and 4 more assists per game. Until people start seeing we need to build a team instead of stockpiling talent the Knicks will be better off.

I agree with you but it bugs me when people isolate only one stat or two like points and rebounds and then argue that stats are no good. Really, those are just incomplete stats. PER is probably the best stat to look at. I agree that even then the stats won't show the full picture, though, but I think they'll show a more meaningful picture than just points and rebounds.

This is no point to even bring Pop and IT together in the same thread.
Just switch this 2 guys and NY will be in 10 best of the league and spurs will never make the playoffs... and Big Fundamental will choke IT while Ginobly stabbing him South American style...

The freaking Golden State Warriors are averaging 23.1 assist, 12.4 turn overs, 109.3 pts per game. Though they got a huge boost to all these #s by there last game vs Clipps in which they put up 28 ast, 11TOs, 122pts.

But they are only 1-6. I was shocked, how could that be. The answer was there opponents are averaging 28.7assist, 14.6turn overs, 116.3 pts per game, agains them.

I was for sure that with 23assist, 12To, 109 pts you would win more games than you loose. They probably still could in an 82game season. But they are letting there opponents be more efficent than them even though they have put up some efficent #s. They might shoot just to many 3s.

They need some DOGS

No way, Tim Duncan can make anyone look good. He has no ego and is cappable of playing whatever style of play you want to play. You throw Tim Duncan on this team and we win the NBA championship if not this yr then next yr. You throw Tim Duncan on Seattle or Minny and they win the NBA championship in 2yrs. Put him in ATL they win the NBA champinship within 2yrs. Pop is great, not to knock what he has done, but Tim Duncan makes it all work.

Its like having Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. You know they are going to get you to the playoffs easily every yr. So now you can put your focus on things other teams can't. If you take a step back to take 5 steps forward the risk is minimal because those guys can still maintain success. You could also take risk on players that other teams can because those guys can still maintain success. When Dallas had Nash & Nowtizki winning 60games a yr. They traded for Jaimison & A.Walker for cheap. They then built back up there value and retraded Jaimison for a top 5 draft pick(Devin Harris) and A.Walker for Jason Terry. They slipped a little on Harris but they could have had Deng or Iggy though Josh Howard & Daniels were showing signs of become good players. But I don't think Dallas would have been able to pull all that off if they weren't so secure with Nash & Nowtizki. Duncan brings that security.
