1.) Isiah Thomas & Steve Mills fired, and Stephon Marbury bought out.

The Isiah era was every bit as bad as Layden's. It may have had more highs & more lows, but it stunk, period.

2.) James Dolan needs to issue a public apology to the fans.

Rule #1 - never piss off the fans. Humility is the 1st step.

3.) Marv Albert needs to be hired back.

Yes - Marv. The Nets sound better with Ian Eagle, and Marv was the voice of the Knicks forever. It was a mistake to let him go, and would show we're going back to the way things used to be.

4.) We need to "keep it in the family"

It was a disgrace Ewing was never extended an asst. coaching job. Willis or Bradley need to be hired as President. Vandeweghe(yea, he was a Knick) or Greg Anothony as GM. Let Herb coach.

5.) We need to Draft a Top 3 Pick

No more starphucking or 30th overalls. We need to build from within with top college talent.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Right Now:

Fire Isiah
Buy Out Marbury
Buy Out Malik Rose
Buy Out Jerome James
Appoint Herb Williams Coach
Appoint Glen Grunwald Interim GM

Summer:

Fire Steve Mills and appoint a new Garden President
Fire Glen Grunwald and hire a new GM
Fire the remains of Isiah's coaching staff.
Trade Crawford and Curry

That's is the short list right there to get this disaster back on a respectable track for the future.

Trading Crawford and Curry would be a great idea, i don't think you should buy out rose he is a veteran, agree with pretty much everything else.....

I wish we could get Horford from Atlanta, I would send them Curry, Nate, Chandler anything to get that guy, we need winners and leaders

I really don't want Herb Coaching. He isn't very good at it. Dave Hanner should be the coach of this team and Herb needs to stay a assistant or be the next GM of the Knicks.

I agree. Herb is a nice guy and was a nice Knick, but what about him makes head coach material? He was pretty poor in his interim stint and he's not a big guys in terms of motivation it seems. I like him and he probably does a good job as an assistant, but I don't see him as any kind of heir apparent.

I agree pretty much with all of that. I wouldn't buy out Rose. He has value as an expired contract and he's still a very professional player which this teams needs more of, not less.

I'd also fire Steve Mills now. Has anyone figured out what this guy does aside from keeping his head as far up Dolan's ass as he can get it?

Nate also needs to be traded with Crawford and Curry. He's a loser and a gimmick.

I understand the lack of trust in Herb but I meant in an interim capacity. Some seem to like Dave Hanners I don't know much about him but that could be a route to go if he's deemed the better interim coach. The key is appointing Interim GM and Interim coach. You designate it as such when you make the move. "Hired Dave Hanners as Interim Head Coach" and therefore you're not locked into commitment and if you like what he does you can remove the Interim tag.

As to Steve Mills, Crawford, Curry - I see these guys as summer time decisions. Why? Too much at once. Remove the cancer then move onto the undesirables. There's no hurry just make sure that Mills is fired before you hire a new GM.

Summer:

1. Fire Mills
2. Fire Interim GM Grunwald
3. Hire new Garden President.
4. Hire new GM
5. Demote Interim head coach, hire new head coach.
6. Determine Curry/Crawford fate.

I think we just have to take a few big steps but one at a time. First one is to send Marbury home indefinitely awaiting trade or buyout. Fire Isiah at the same exact time. These two should be joined at the hip. You dump them at the same time. Which should of course be right now.

I mention buying out Malik because in rebuilding I don't want to view him as a tradeable 2009 expiring commodity but rather a 2009 cap dump. Remember a lot of this teams problem with the current "regime" is that we view every expiring contract as recyclable. Well? Where has this recycling led us? No where good. Time to break that loop. It worked for the Knicks in the 90s (Mason for LJ, Starks for Spree, Oakley for Camby) but it has never worked during the Isiah regime. Hell, what's the newest rumor? Marbury and Lee for Miles and LaFrentz? If that doesn't underscore why the recycle plan is flawed and that Isiah is not the man to fix his own mess I don't know what does!

I also think it's unfair to hold Malik hostage in this situation. He tried hard here, he tried to be a leader but the coach and the players did not listen to him, he wants out, grant it: He's a good guy don't waste his final years in this situation.

Jerome, whether or not we buy him out two things are certain: We have to pay him. He can not contribute. THEREFORE just end it now. No matter what we do we have to pay the money so maybe save a few bucks off the total sum and rid the team of his antics.

Get rid of Curry, Zach, Marbury, Crawford, Q, Malik, Jerome, and Jared--even if it takes some buy outs.

Herb didn't do badly when he was our coach- he actually had guys motivated and trying- I think there are limits with this squad.

You name him interim- if you find someone before the end of the year, fine- but wait until after the play offs when you can interview assistant coaches from winning programs.

Lets not try to be original- just get jr guys from San Antonio or Dallas-
