I believe it can be done reason is that Stephon has a expiring deal next year and that holds a lot of water in the NBA especially for a team like the Kings who need their cap space to sign FA. Crawford holds less value because Martin is there and Salmons is playing decent and they have a lot of wing players but if you take back a bad contract like Thomas it might get done. Knicks would essentially might have to take three players off the Kings hand. Thomas, Artest and Bibby. Some fillers here and there but it can happen. What we have to keep in mind is that Marbury is not going to be a part of their team and they would know it.

Bibby's contract is the same duration as Steph's at lower cost. They can pay Bibby 30M for two years or Marbury 40M for two years. Which would you do if you were them?

VMart: This is the same trap though. Recycle an expiring player for what you perceive to be the missing pieces. Adding Bibby and Artest to this team solves nothing because Crawford and Curry and Jeffries would not suddenly realize their potential because of Ron Artest. Besides, Mike Bibby stinks and we'd want him gone a few games after we acquired him.

This team is so unbelievably flawed that you can't add 1 or 2 players and expect everything to take off. It won't. Curry still won't play defense or rebound. Crawford will still turn the ball over and shoot terribly. Those things won't change by acquiring Ron Artest.

It's the same trap Isiah has fallen into time and again. It's time to go a different direction and that direction is to purge the team of the players you're trying to cover for.

Adding Ron doesn't make Curry's lack of defense inconsequential. That line of thinking has destroyed this team.

on a side note - kaman's footwork is pretty impressive on the offensive end.

Kaman is basically a young Ilgauskus. Good, but not great.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Kaman has taken big time step forward. He's been an animal on the boards and his O looks much better.

Randolph has been better...

Your wrong on this. This team is held back by Marbury and Crawford. These are the two constants of Isiah's regime. They are the ones holding back the team. Its not Curry its not Randolph. Its not the young players its Crawford and Marbury these are the two culprits that are holding back the team. This is where you have to make the adjustment its for the teams good. Bibby will be a welcomed sight here in the Garden and so would Artest. They bring a different aspect to the team. Bibby is more slick with the ball than Stephon he hits shot and hits big shot too. Artest is a lock down player who is a two way player thats the aspect that the KNicks are missing. Everyone is hating on Curry but he is the least of the NYK problem. Getting rid of Marbury should be a priority as long as he is on the team being disgruntled the team will suffer and it will suffer hard as long as this guy is here. So you have to make a move to keep this azz clown Marbury around is a detriment to the team, buy him out or trade him but a move has to be made.

The team IS held back by Isiah, Marbury, Crawford, Curry, QRich and his health problems, Jeffries being a lot worse than advertised, late 1st round picks being fun to watch but not two way high impact players, by wastes like Jerome and Malik.

So therefore I guess my point is this: There is so much that is wrong that no one or even two trades would be able to balance it out and then get us back on the road to contending one day soon.

I don't think this is a "fixable" team as in we're "a few additions away" from watching them gel together into something special.

In my opinion it must be torn down if the ultimate goal is to build not just a winner but a contender.

The direction we are going, if we are lucky, a new addition might allow us to realize the .500 potential many of us thought we already had this season. It's apparent with the continued injury prone situation, the insane distractions, now the dissension amongst the team and coach, and the excruciatingly slow progress of our supposed foundation pieces that we are not heading into the direction of a contending team.

To add in, it's been 3.75 years, and we've done nothing but spin our wheels. The time for a new direction is closer than ever and in that I think the worst thing we could do is try another one of these recycling trades.
