This is the record I predicted before the season started.

Noone on our team plays any defense aside from Balkman, Mardy, then Q and Lee (our role players.

Without ZBbo we looked 100 percent identical to last years team. We probably would have gotten blown out had Wade played. There is no excuse for loosing to a 0-5 Miami team AT HOME filled only with veteran role players. I know the season just started but we needed those wins against Orlando and Miami because now we are going on a West Coast trip where we are likely headed towards the same path of our previous 3-4 years. Crawford, Marbury, Zbo and Curry play 0 defense. These guys are way overpaid and appear to only put their efforts towards their individual offense. The Knicks looked like they have been sleeping on the court the last 2 games.

I had enough. IT is only decent at drafting, not coaching and def not being a GM. The man should have been fired a long time ago (nothing new). The only productive players he has brought in are Lee and Balkman. Everyone else has been a waste of time and $$. If we ever want a chance of becoming a winning team then we def have to blow this team up and start with new management. This team needs a defensive minded PG who can distribute the ball, a real franchise player and a defensive minded team. I would only hold on to Lee, Balk, and prob Collins. Rest of the team appears to be all hype. Like I said w/o ZBO we are the same team as last year. With ZBO (nice offense, but he and Curry are terrible on the D) perhaps we will reach 38 wins maybe, but def no playoffs again.
How many open 3's and jumpshots must we give up? I think a bare ***ed monkey would realize by now that we need to guard the perimeter and stop giving up open shots all day.

DJ mentioned that IT is desperate to win with his 8 man rotation. I thought the same thing. I liked the shorter rotation but it's obvious he is trying to save his ***.

I still say go for cap space and keep drafting. Of course I am dumb though for thinking that. I guess I'll say the same in 5 years from now when we could have prob had Cap space after letting Mcdyess and company go a few years ago. IT will continue to bring in a savior "starphuck" to add to our cap atrocity in hopes of making the playoffs.

I think the team is making D Lee depressed.(Only he, Balk, Q, Mardy have head on their shoulders). He probably see's whats wrong with the team and keeps it to himself.

PG has been such an obvious need for so long, and yet we refuse to address it. With two scoring big guys I wouldn't think of acquiring any other player, unless I was desperate and trying anything to get wins to preserve my job.

I agree. We definitely need a new PG with so many good Pg's in the NBA today. Steph has obvious skills, however his skills are more towards an individual concept rather than a team concept. With Curry, Zbo and Crawford, Q, Lee, Balkman on board we definitely need a savy defensive minded pass first, High IQ point guard who can lead our team and provide a fluid flow with easy team oriented baskets/offense. Right now we have a team of celebrities not hard-nosed professionals.

Elite or future elite PG's in the league
Daron Williams
Jason Kidd
Tony Parker
Chris Paul
Steve Nash
Chauncy Billups
Baron Davis
Andre Miller
Allen Iverson
TJ Ford

At least 1/3 or more of the league has an elite point guard. Unfortunately we do not.

So far in the first 5 games:

Too much/ always standing around on offense and defense, no chemistry and all 1 on 1 play. Our backcourt is giving up way too many open jumpshots all day every day.
Jamal needs to drive all day and take mid range shots where he is efficient. That is not rocket science. He is only good from long range when he is WIDE OPEN. Can IT please draw up some pick and rolls and screens for JC? My goodness.

Thanks Bip. I miss you too man.

It's interesting that we used to hammer Charlie Ward and Allan Houston - yet - they were a winning combo. Sure they had a great front court but the point is they did their jobs, they were as much a part of a winning team as anyone on those 90s rosters, and we'd KILL to have the two of them in their prime over Marbury/Crawford.

I guess you either don't know what you have at the time or are never happy always expecting more.

Unfortunately instead of looking for a Charlie Ward and an Allan Houston over these past four seasons (going on his fifth in about 5 weeks time) - Isiah has tried to turn Marbury into Charlie Ward and Crawford into well, god knows what at this point.

Isiah reminds me of a girl who fell in love with a man who was rough around the edges and went on to perceive him as a lump of clay that she could mold into whatever she chose and life would go on happily ever after.

Unfortunately for Isiah, much like that type of woman, that's not realistic, and I think he's found that out. Unfortunately more for Isiah he can't just break up with a 90M dollar roster and go steal someone's elses' just like that aforementioned woman would most certainly do.

we need a lot of things... a shotblocker, a low post defender, a leader probably the biggest thing we're missing... i'm talking about someone who can take charge of this team in crunchtime & make sure he makes the right plays & doesn't commit idiotic turnovers or take bad shots... someone w/a head out there on the floor & knows where all his teammates will be... u'd figure after 3 years of playing together we'd have a guy who would fit that description in our backcourt by now.

I predicted 38 wins as well. Sadly, this might be the 4th straight year where I predicted in the mid-to-high 30's in W's and they didnt even come close.

The problem is that Isiah is looking for what we need based on what he sees today. This roster. What this roster needs to succeed today. I don't think we should do things that way. We should be looking for what the future roster needs to compete for a title. First you find someone(1 or 2 players) to build around. Then you get complimentary pieces. Let's pretend that Eddie and Zach are the two guys you build around(even if it's only one of them). The logical next step is to find a backcourt that can get them the ball on a regular basis, that can run the offense and can defend the perimeter. It's such a logical next step it's amazing to me that we haven't attempted to address it. Instead we add Fred Jones.

Everyone else on this team should be fodder. Decide who is part of your future and build(I can't beleive 7 years later I'm still saying the same stuff). I don't care if you have to make 13 trades and 17 draft picks to find the guy. But find a goshdarn PG that understands the flow of the game.

I didn't know he's a HERO. People give Lee and Balkman a pass because they both hustle, both give effort defensively and are both white. Don't get it twisted.

we have to face the fact that as long as Isiah's in charge of this team, Marbury's his guy for better or for worse... famous last words of many failed marriages.
