Just wondering what do you think favors the knick "power frontcourt" more possesions in a game or less?

The way i see it other than the obvious (if your down in the forth quarter u want more posessions - if u are up u want less), its pretty much down to this: if we can get a high% shot most of the game(throwing it down to Eddy and Z-bo, also i noticed Q seems to be using more of his post game lately as well as Lee)and driving to the hoop then we can make it a low posession game and make other team match our high % shots. Taking our time would make us create less turnovers, even if we get a shotclock violation 3 or even 4 times per game but otherwise cut all of our other turnovers to 10 thats very doable and 14-15 total (as a high turnover game)is not that much. Of course we'd have to pass tha ball even more than we do now and fast break would be the only exception to the rule and the only time when u can shoot without thinking how much time is on the clock.

On the other hand, having a high amount of posessions in a game allows u to play less defence(against some teams its harder to defend than others) also it allows players to get higher stats and it could/has to revert to that if you are down and need to score a lot. But this type of game is a lot harder to keep up for 48 mins, and it makes the points that we do score , even at a higher % , less meaningful than they would be in a low posession game.

Of course u gotta play d in both scenarios and in a low posession game d will make more of an impact, if the team can defend at a decent level which i've seen the knicks do- even though not during as many posessions as i would have liked :P

Dude.

Here's the deal, I've said this countless times:

Post scoring? Less possesions.

Run and gun? More possesions.

Less possesions means you need to play SOME team defense. Pheonix is a bad team defense but has good indiv. defenders.

Knicks are STANK ASS on D.
