Our low position compared to the league in blocks, rebounds and free throw shooting is nothing new.

The three point shooting stat is interesting. If Marbury, Crawford and Q can start to knock down threes consistently, we'll have a pretty strong offense. In the first half of the first quarter last night we'd have Curry on one side of the paint and Randolph on the other. We'd dump it to Curry (or try to) - if nothing was happening over there we'd fire the ball around the perimeter over towards Randolph. He'd either get the ball and make a move or we'd end up with someone taking a wide open three. A couple times someone on the perimeter would be able to drive the ball in and get a shot or pass it off down low as well. A pretty efficient system.

Of course scoring has not been our problem thus far.

Probably the only working system for the team without SF who can score and PG who can create the offence.
The problem is - this can work only if all coaches in the league will be mentally retarded.

Actually we were a top 4 rebounding team last 2 years. The FT's are worse so far. We've been better. I think we'll see some of these stats change for us as we move along. We're avg'ing more assists than last year and fewer TO's. If not for the awful TO numbers in the last game we'd actually be doing well for this team.
As long as we don't make the poor performance of the last game a regular thing we'll show improvement in many areas this year.

We are also in the bottom 3rd in 3pt attempts. Not really enough games to a build a meaningful sample size to say we're good at 3pt shooting.

More importantly we're good at scoring. I think that's pretty obvious. We're just not gonna stop enough people for it to matter that much.

BTW, if we can't stop people one on one we need to have a much better turnover differential, and right now we're not only last in blocks but bottom 10 in steals.

Why is that? It works because Eddy can take most people 1 on 1 down low. They need to double, and that creates an opening. If he passes out and the Knicks begin swinging the ball around, they'll end up with an open shot or clear path to the lane or at least room to get the ball to ZR.

Even if it is obvious to the coaches what we're doing, that doesn't make it any easier to guard it.
