Found this old' article and thought the comparisons where interesting. If I remember correctly, it talks of Kirby winning the world series, but I thought that playoffs where off limits in voting for players into the Hall? I believe they are voted in on career stats, integrity and how much they contributed to their team(s). Good read below.

Donnie was 1 of the best players in baseball for a span of several seasons, but his back issues cut short his career... if he'd have had 2 more seasons playing at his peak level, there wouldn't even be a question whether or not he belonged in the Hall... personally i say he belongs there, but whether he's in or not, he'll always be my alltime favorite Yankee.
