This is for guys who are jealous of me staying on the hottest topic in the news JVD. gony, ares ,pike, swish, prodson, karnivore. AND FOR THAT I LAUGH AT YOU!

June 3, 2003 -- The "BIGGEST" upset of the playoffs may be Jeff Van Gundy getting shut out of a coaching job. Despite numerous vacancies, Van Gundy has a good chance of working another year for TNT.
Unless the Wizards jump in the fray, it's the Rockets or bust for Van Gundy. And the biggest rumor is the Rockets are leaning toward Mike Dunleavy because of Rockets GM Carroll Dawson's longtime ties with him. Dawson has known Dunleavy since 1980 when Dawson was an assistant coach for the Rockets and Dunleavy played guard.

"It's down to those two and we haven't decided," Dawson claimed yesterday. "I've coached Dunleavy. I know Jeff much less. I just met him really last week and getting to know him was very interesting. He's very personable and open."

Van Gundy had done more extensive interviewing with the Cavaliers, who hired Paul Silas yesterday.

Both sides obviously realized Van Gundy could be a bad fit with rookie LeBron James coming aboard. According to league sources, Van Gundy's perceived win-now-at-all-costs approach and lack of patience with younger players could have led to a LeBron uprising.

VANGUMBY HAS BEEN EXPOSED FINALLY, NOBODY WANTS THIS IDIOT AND HIM NOT HAVING A JOB TELLS IT ALL. Now I have to hear his followers : well he doesn't stand for poor leadership on atlanta cleveland etc.. Listen a coach coaches he is on the verge of being outdated like his side kick FRATELLO. i AM LAUGHING ALL DAY LONG THE GUY IS A CHUMP. NUFF SAID!

ALL YOU KNOW IS WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED AND WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED IS NOT ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW. "get in the know"

Myron, You are crazy man. I stil wnat to know what this man did to you? The fact is the Cleveland job was up for grabs and they decided on Silas becasue of his ability to relate to younger players. They wanted Lebron to have a strong leader on and OFF the court his first few years. JVG is more hands off to OFF the court matters. A 18 year old kid might have trouble there.

It has nothing to do with coacing X's and O's you fool.

Gony, for me he personaly stop the knicks from becoming like the mavericks by weasling his way(sucking up to ewing to whatever he wanted) as head coach instead of backing nellie to change who the offense was going thru and thus we followed the blueprint(riley)left that didn't evolve the new modern style of the nba that nellie saw coming . Instead he just wanted to win games only to keep his job and fought the visionary we had here "grunfeld". Grunfeld had a clue and Gundy fought him and luckily thru injuries camby was allowed to play. Gundy and Ewing destroyed the hope of the knick staying competitive for title runs in the 2000's. But for some, you're to blinded not to see ny would have been better with nellie and grunfeld instead of winding up with Layden and gundy. And now you blame chaney who gundy endorsed and drop a two ton weight on chaney's head. YOU DO THE MATH. I am all about the knicks not this bash them after the fact mentality when the damage was done way back then.

You guys always rise to the bait. I'll give Playa some credit for stirring up some controversy from essentially nothing in a boring and depressing Knick off-season. I wonder if he can maintain it througout the summer? Like, in August will we still be seeing Playa posts about how much Van Gundy sucks -- with 38 replies?

LOL

Knicks geek , they know i keep it bumping, these sites would have only a few topics of discussion if I didn't post my VG comments. I f i didn't post all you would hear is Layden bashing by the usual suspects, at least vg is front page news , while layden is yesterday's news until the draft.MY job is to keep it moving.
