i understand the whole arguments about who should start and who shouldn't, why is that such an issue? the question should be who is getting minutes and who is in the rotation, and tonight it was perfect.

Q only played 22 minutes but started, i can live with that.
z-bo and curry are both gonna start and both gonna get 35+ a night. they are the marquee names, the big $ players, thats how the nba works.
marbury and crawford is the starting backcourt. who else could it be? (n-a-s, nas nas nas)

the bench should be THREE GUYS just like isiah played it tonight, three dudes he drafted, has confidence in, and who are hungry and have something to prove.

nate backing up both guard spots, he has the game to do both.

lee filling in at 4 while curry or z-bo go to 5 and also playing on the perimeter.

balkman giving you 20+ minutes of straight hustle, heart, and energy every night!

thats an 8 man team with offense to start the game and a good amount of energy and toughness off the bench.

if isiah keeps it to 8 guys (obviously ppl filling in when needed but primarily those 8, when things go right only those 8 play, etc), the knicks are gonna be over .500 and in the playoffs.

What will Isiah do when Jeffries and Collins get well.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Playing 8 (maybe stick a 9th in there every so often for defensive purposes- I'm looking at Mardy), makes a lot of sense. We need guys to know their roles. This is the first time in like 3 years that guys have had defined roles.

Totally agree. IT needed to set a rotation so that guys could start focusing on their roles rather than worrying about their minutes or forcing things because they are worried about getting pulled.

Unfortunately, IT is going to give JJ2 some run when he gets healthy, but as long as he is limited to 5-10 minutes, it should not be a problem because JJ2 can provide some defense. The rotation should never be more than 9 guys.

8-men is a PLAYOFF ROTATION.

You really think these guys will make 82 playing all those minutes every night? Not marbs...

Can't wait until Mardy and Jefferies get healthy.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

Isaiah said, before the season, that he was going to narrow his rotation. He had discussed that with Chuck Daley and Daley encouraged him to do it.

8 man rotation is good. The only time the 9th man gets in is when there are foul troubles and/or nothing is working defensively.

I love Mardy but right now the troika of Dinglebury, Jamal and Nate is looking good. Also, I love the rebounds coming from DLee, Z-Bo and the Balkster. Even Curry is getting into the whole rebounding thing.

The thing I liked yesterday is Isiah didn't pull Balkman to go back to QRich at the end of the game yesterday (like he had done before).

I love IT's new attitude. If they are playing well, leave them in the game. I understand last year he was trying to get a better feel for the entire team, but this year has to be all about winning and getting your best players into a groove.

The only downside of this current 8 man rotation is DLee getting less minutes, but with Curry and Z-Bo producing I can live with it.

Lee played enough to make a big impact last night. The way Curry and Randolph were playing in the 4th you wouldn't have wanted to pull either of them. I think there are games where Lee will be a better matchup or will be playing better than those guys. We'll see.

I don't think you can go an entire season on an 8 man rotation with Q and Marbs prone to injury. I think our core group should be 8, but guys like Jeffries and Collins should definitely see some time as the season becomes more grueling.

I think you definitely slip in Collins to play D against certain opponents (maybe we're waiting for him to get healthy). Jeffries I don't have much use for. If anything Morris should get a bit of run later in the year.

I'm not a Jeffries fan and I hate his contract. But he isn't as bad as people make him out to be. In the right role he can be very useful.

I hate playing 4 on 5. If he can't shoot the ball he needs to find a way to put the ball on the floor, get in the paint and set up his teammates the way that Lee and Balkman do. And also hit the offensive boards. It's embarassing watching Jared standing all alone on quadrant of the floor.

So basically, he's currently Isiah's version of your nemesis, Howard Eisley.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
