look at his stats:

Min-27; FG-5/6; FT-1/2; Reb-4; Ass-1; Stl-1; Blk-3; Pts-11

A PERFECT example of contribution that doesn't show up in the stats. It's like he doesn't exist. A Ghost. who blocks shots.

I just thought he deserved his own thread of praise.

he won the game. no matter how good the knicks shot the ball--they were getting eaten up back on the D until balkman sparked the team as a whole into playing better.

The Knicks need to design their defensive rotations so that Balkman meets the penetrator at the rim. His shot-blocking is excellent!

Looking back at that draft, after Rudy Gay was picked at 8, we arguably got the best player after that.

Not to beat the Marcus Williams horse, but I like Mardy Collins better than Williams too. I think Williams will be behind Darrell Armstrong this year after being beat out by Eddie House last year.

Balkman was a better pick than Williams and so was Rondo by the Celts. Collins may also turn out better.

Marcus Williams is the future point of the Nets under the DIRECT TUTELAGE of Jason Kidd.


He'll probly end up being better than Mike Conley.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Start jeffries but finish with Balky. Its not who starts but who finishes.

Qich is done. He looks bad. He makes Isiah look bad. I like the guy, but bury him on the bench.

I liked that one move I think in the 3rd Q, when he dribbled from the right baseline, around Camby and finished with the left hand. That was a suprisingly smooth offensive move.

Meanwhile he got beat out by journeyman Eddie House last year. Let's see if he can wrest the position away from 1,000 year old Darrell Armstrong.

Methinks that Williams was the one who was overrated.
