The constant pandering of various posters here is really getting old. There are many other posters who I enjoy reading their posts but have to read through these one trick pony, condescending nimrods posts. This is a fan site and fans do have a right to have differing opinions but some of these guys are attention grabbing post whores, who enjoy pissing off others. I just believe this doesn't belong here.Just a thought.

Pure Knicks Love?

buddapaw - thank you
I, for one, do not celebrate when the Knicks lose.

Never have. NEVER will.

I think the ignore is too much. It'd make conversations here really weird. If someone is really baiting you conistently than complain about it. Or if you can't handle the heat...

Don't cheapen this forum with an "ignore" feature.

y not have an ignore button? if you don't like it, don't use it.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

Or... if you don't like what a particular poster brings to the table, don't respond to him.

Why not have an ignore button? You mean other than the pretty severe complications it will add to the discussion?

That's not how it works- even if you don't use it, if someone else is using it will affect the entire thread. There will be non-responses and holes in conversations. It's a weird and useless feature. Its a lot easier to scroll over someone's posts or not respond if they're baiting you.

People really don't have the self control to just ignore certain posts on their own? They need a mechanism to do it for them?

Why would it? Please explain would the use of something similar such as the turning images off images feature would affect the thread? This would be a user based item and it would not after the original thread in any way except the view of the actual user. It would be in essence a user function.

Like clockwork Isles chimes in, with that type of thinking we would still be stuck in the stone age. The solution I requested is not just on my behalf, it for the posters on this board who are tired of attention grabbing post whores like yourself ruining a great source of information, a sense of community and Pure Knick Love

Yes, I don't like the idea of an "ignore" button and think people can police what they read or don't read, that means I'm against the industrial revolution.

Think about it. Let's just say you're chosen to ignore me.

You make a post

I reply to your post, not knowing that I'm on ignore.

I await your reply, yet you're ignoring me, so I reply again

Another poster wonders why you're not replying, starts commenting.

You can see the comments, but you have no idea which poster he's referring to that's replying to you.

Another guy comes in, has you on ignore, and wonders who the other guy is replying too.

And so on. It becomes an Abbott and Costello routine.

Their just words. If you see a name and know you don't like the guys posts, its not really that hard to skip over them, is it? That's helpful feature of having our names by every post.

Here's my point, if you don't care what people write, you should easily be able to just skip their posts and ignore them on your own. Otherwise it leads to disjointed conversation.

i think people just need to start policing themselves & stop w/the immature flaming of other posters & try to stick to the topics at hand... having an ignore button just so people can filter out the "hater" posts from the "true love" posts counteracts the whole point in having a message board to begin with... we're supposed to be exchanging alternate points of view here.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

An ignore button would hurt this board. I've been agreeing that this whole hater/lover stuff has been hurting the quality of the boards, so maybe it's THAT in which we need to get rid of. This is a board of Knicks fans. This isn't high school so what's the point in having cliques of we all love the Knicks and want them to win a championship. If some of us don't agree with what the Knicks are doing, it's b/c we don't think it will take us to the Promised Land. If some of us think the moves can, fine, but we don't have to resort to bashing the crap out of eachother, as opposed to just stating why we disagree.

The Hater/Lover crap is annoying as hell to be honest.
