Douchebag owners. Said they wouldnt move the team if they bought it, and just straight up lied. I hope they lose a legal battle and have to sell it for less money then they bought it for.

Not true. The quote I found....

It is not our intention to move or relocate the team.

...which is far from a certainty.

What would suck more is if Durant lead them to a championship in 3 yrs.

Don't sleep on Oklahoma. Half my family is from there. They have sold out all of their college and minor league sports for ages. They are desperate for a major league team.

They will support the OKC Sonics, and even the Sonic name applies because Sonic Drive through started there.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

They were also none too pleased the Hornets left.

Which is ironic since the Hornets should have never been moved to New Orleans in the first place.

Actually Andrew- they said that publically- but somewhere along the line, I forget when, one of the owners was basically outed for having either said something in private or held some kind of negotiations that basically outed that their intent from Day one was to move.

I think the broader issue that is repugnant to me is that these super millionaires basically move because they couldn't get a hand out from seattle in the form of a new stadium.

And of new stadiums- it marvels me that my house is 80+ years old, but sports stadiums are deemed old at 20.

So much for the history of the Sonics and their arena.

Pretty much the exact same reason our swamprat buddies across the river are coming here in 2 years.

Its too bad they couldn't have found common ground to co-habit the devils in their new arena- you can't beat being a couple blocks from Newark Penn- well, you could if you weren't in Newark!

Its disgusting and sad and I don't understand how people in general give up so easily.

I guess 1984 isn't that far off...
