I agree. Wilcox looks like he is going to make a huge leap this year. I think he is going to be a 18 and 10 guy by the end of the season. Since he makes a fraction of what Zach makes, I doubt the Sonics would be interested.
Perhaps.
BUT:
sam presti is bred from the spurs orginization.
i don't think he'll builds a fast-breaking team.
he's too smart for that. he knows they never win in the playoffs. and you need a crafty PG for that, and just look at their personell:
Delonte West, Earl Watson?
(I believe Ridnour's good as gone).
Zach Randolph would give them a primetime post scorer. They don't lose any rebounding, they lost a little toughness and athleticism, but they gain passing, IQ, scoring, etc.
Lemme add this:
We can't get Kobe straight up.
But what better way to do it than involve a 3rd team from the West?
Seattle is a perfect match for us.
A.) We have Nate and Jamal. Seattle natives. Small incentive, but still...
B.) If they end up going slow(er)-ball, which I think they will, Z-Bo is a good fit IMO, and they've already shown interest in him (rumour).
C.) Sam Presti isn't stupid. Any chance to move the 2nd best player in the league out of his division is an opportunity he'll look into.
example:
To LADavid Lee
Wilson Chandler
Wally Sczerbiak (expires next year)
Luke Ridnour
Fred Jones (expiring)
2 Unprot. 1st's (via NY)To NYKobe Bryant
Chris Wilcox
Vlad RadmanovicTo SEAJamal Crawford
Zach Randolph[Edited by - bobs3304 on 02-11-2007 12:24 AM]
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure.
And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
