I think the traditional answer has been "Marbury". Interested what people think now that Zach Randolph is on the team....

Once Walker Russell Jr. was cut it became Randolph.

i think this guy has it on the nose.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Zach is the knicks best player.

When you look at things in this was it kinda sticks out the fact the knicks suck.

Knicks lack a guy that can flat out slash to the basket. No real scorer. Knicks have marbs who bullys his way to the basket. Then craw prefers to take off balance shots. Q used to be a nice slasher but he's a shell of his former self. Balkman can do it but that has yet to be seen. Fred jones can definately do it but last time I checked the dude was 6'4". If fred was 6'8" he would be a star.

If you wanna be silly, nate robinson is the knicks best player. Nate always could shoot it, he is a fearless rebounder, and compeditor period. Its a shame name is 5'8". Just 4 more inches and nobody would second guess his talent.

All signs point to the knicks sucking. As a team, they could make opponents sweat. Can they make the playoffs? yes. Can they miss the playoffs? Yes.

So who is their best player? Zach.....the new guy that hasn't played a real game as a knick yet. That speaks volumes about what we really have here in ny.

Anyway go knicks cuz the rest of the league sucks as well!

It doesn't matter who the best player is. This is a team where there are several guys who are close in talent. Zach, Curry & Lee are at the top for me. Then you have Steph, Jamal & Nate. Behind them you have guys on the rise like Balk and Chan. I think this is a team that's gonna be more along the lines of Utah, Chi, GS and Detroit. Teams that aren't super top heavy with stars, but have good talent depth all the way thru.

The Knicks don't suck, they just need to continue to develop the chemsitry as the season moves along. The more these guys play together, the better they're gonna get. By the end of the year I think our upside is higher than a lot of teams in the East. Wash can't get any better than what they've been. Cleve won't be any better and might be worse. I didn't expect the Cavs to have so many roster problems and I think it will affect them early on. Miami is too old where it counts. NJ will be better from day one, but I think they are pretty much what they're gonna be. The best guy they have is inconsistent. VC is the one guy that can raise his level of play to the highest levels. I just don't know how much of that he has in him. Three 7 games series at that level seems like too much for him. I don't trust Kidds stamina or RJ's consistency in terms of raising the bar in the playoffs. Even tho Boston may not be deep, when it comes to playoff time they have 3 guys who I think can raise the bar even higher and that's what will make them tough in the playoffs. On any given night at least 2 of them will likely be on.

Boston
Chicago
Detroit
NJ

After that it's an open field.

So we gave up two lottery picks, two 2nd rd picks, and 2 expiring contracts all for a player who got zero out of twenty-two votes?! Most teams have gotten franchise players for far less--let alone players who aren't the best (or even the fifth best on this poll) on their teams. Maybe the poll results reflect that people are beginning to see how bad the Curry trade was.

I'm not sure how zach can get voted 'best all around'

He doesn't play team ball- doesn't make others on his team better- doesn't pass, play defense or team ball.

Lee does all of those things- he doesn't have the unidimensional scoring capabilities of zach- but that's all zach has over him.

Give me a team of five david lee's- and they'll win most nights.

And SEVEN draft picks for Marbury and Curry, who combined for only 1 out of 28 votes.
