Orlando Magic extend Jameer Nelson's contract

The Magic on Tuesday reached an agreement on a contract extension with point guard Jameer Nelson, the Sentinel learned.

Nelson, entering his fourth season, would have become a restricted free agent at the end of the season if the Magic had not extended him.

Terms of the contract were not known.

rumored to be 5 years anywhere between $30-42 mil. considering it's orlando, i would say $42 mil.

I'm surprised by this. I thought the main reason why Orlando sucked last season was because Jameer Nelson played like ****. He was much better the year before and actually looked like he could be a good player in this league. IDK maybe he was playing with an injury last season?

I'm as big of a Nelson fan as there is because of how awesome he was in school. .. but he was terrible last season. Signing him now is a mistake. Maybe they save in the long run if he has a great season (in which he is playing for his father's memory), but I wouldn't count on it.

Jameer Nelson is a good PG, he's built like a tank and can create his own shots. All he had to do is just be more passive.

He's not the best PG out there but he's not the worst. You can live with him being the PG but he can be easily replaced by someone else.
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!
