Finally some player has enough stones to tell the truth!

"I still don't think they (Cavaliers) beat us, we beat ourselves," Wallace said. "And I think we also fell victim to that personal NBA thing where they are trying to make it a world game and get (television) ratings. They wanted to put their darling in there (the NBA Finals) and they did, and look what ended up happening."

The league's darling, according to Wallace, was LeBron James, and what ended up happening were the worst ratings in the modern history of the NBA Finals.

"This game ain't basketball anymore, it's entertainment," Wallace said. "It's starting to get like the WWF. There ain't no real wrestling anymore either. It's all fake."

It's pretty easy to rig a basketball game, call here, no call here. Charge here, blocking here get into the players head... it's the easiest out of all the sports.

the problem with this argument is then wouldn't the NBA have wanted the finals to go seven games? If anything, I thought the cavs had a lot of calls go against them- in fact, the games were so close, the refs could easily have had the cavs win one or two- wouldn't that have increased ratings?

the NBA wouldn't manipulate a little and then stand back? Unless, of course these same refs and officials had San Antonio to sweep in VEGAS!

Why do you think the NBA sent Lebron to CHINA, IMAGE IS EVERYTHING !

Sheed is bang on, he should have brought up 2006 finals with that yrs NBA Darling D.WADE.

How many phantom calls did he recieve and in turn bothered the mavs mentally.

The love of the game has blinded many.

Rasheed has little credibility and the reasons are understandable.

That being said, I think for one reason or another, the officiating has been terrible for years, to the point of appearing fixed. I can't deny that at times the games have looked fixed. Whether that was the NBA's doing or not is unclear. That being said, to put LeBron in the finals just so his team can get swept would be a bad marketing move, at least in the short term. I don't know what to make about this particular accusation, but as a whole, I think something smells rotten with the NBA officiating at times, particularly in the playoffs.

Another sniffing glue thread from playa for him to talk about the conspiring refs.

Actually this is a rehashed statement from Wallace, he said this last season and is bringing it up again because of what happened to them against Lebron/Clev. To be honest about it his beef has more weight when discussing how his team was treated when they played Wade vs Lebron. Det flat out got beat by Boobie and a 1 game classic performance by Lebron meanwhile the yr before they got ran through by Wade and the refs.

Who cares at this point

It's funny. The reason he was walking around with that World Heavyweight Championship belt was b/c of the 2004 Laker series. I guess the refs did an A-OK job there, though, eh, Sheed?

Like seriously, I think playa is against fans loving the NBA and other sports. He comes with these conspiracy that he tries to make us hate this league and want us to lose our joy of it.

Why do you think he keep saying "the love of the game is blinded you". We dont care, we watch the game for the love of it.

Yes - obviously that is what's going on. The refs rigged the series. It had nothing to do with Lebron - particularly in game 5 with 48 points - just taking over and running the show. Just blowing by the entire team and hitting the game winning layup in that game.

Those damn refs definitely handed that one to Lebron...

He would have had more credibility had he said similar things the year after they won instead of just the years after when they lost.
