Marv - if you look at the regular season games after the Denver scuffle, I don't remember many instances where the team mailed it in. Sometimes, it still just comes back to available talent. There were some important Knicks players missing in March.
I have a revolutionary idea. Let's cheer Nate's development.
earl, i'll cheer nate's game last night. i'll hardly cheer his "development."
against philly: 1-8 fg. 0-3 3's. 1 assist. 3 TO's
against boston: 0-4 fg. 0-3 3's. 0 assists. 1 TO.
against nj: 0-8 fg. 0-3 3's. 1 assist. 1 TO.
Identity.
C'mon Marv - enough with the superficial stats. This ain't about game by game stats but about growth and the maturation process, which is different for everyone.
Sure. Nate has danced during warmups, irritated the hell outta some vets and pissed off some opponents. You don't get to the NBA at 5'8 being no punk. Nate has never backed down. Nate leaves his heart on the floor, which is EXACTLY what Knicks fans supposedly love about their ballers.
Here's the choice: You can either decide to be supportive of a young Knicks player, no matter how problemmatic he has been in the past. Or you can continue the convenient route of celebrating each and every flaw with the patented, "I told you he was crap" routine.
Sometimes I wonder if the singularly lovable David Lee wasn't on the team, there would not be one Knicks player deemed worthy of your precious applause.
