i picked up my season tix today and there are various players on tickets this year. but a new twist has their name, along with their position and alias. here's the guys on the tickets:

Hey blueNorange...I do not wish to "hijack" the thread, or sound like I'm baiting you but I'm curious if you could explain your signature. Have you actually heard/read any Knick fans state that they accept "mediocricy [sic] as excellence?" It's one thing to see accepting the situation as what it is, but another thing to see it as excellence.

I tend to think this is a mis-characterization of fans who have been generally supportive of Isiah, and have read such criticisms. It's one thing to support the team's direction in some capacity (which doesn't indicate blind following or that one cannot disapprove of at least some things he's done) and another thing to declare that this is "excellence."

Also, as someone who is probably characterized as a "lover" round these parts, and from what I have seen of some others so characterized like nixluva, misterearl, kam, etc. is that the team is not free of criticism -- both Isiah and the players, we just happen to defend things that we see as possibly valuable. I also understand that fans are upset with years of failure and poor play (so are we!) and that many are "fed up" and want "no excuses" I just don't happen to take a different approach. I don't see that as a way that means we will get what we want especially since we are dealing with Dolan in charge and that we are a NY team.

Anyway, I won't go on, but I just wanted to throw that out there...

I wouldn't say on this forum but other forums I post on, all of them were happy the thought of making the playoffs with a losing record.

I think that I'd be "happy" if we made the playoffs under those circumstances as progress, if we were just under .500, but I wouldn't call it "excellence" either.

It's very accurate. Every time Marbury speaks, I want to lose my lunch. I suspect this is a common reaction. Marbury should market this as a diet. I've lost about 15 pounds this summer just from him speaking.
