That's what was reported on ESPN radio. So once A-Rod opts out, we will have officially given up Soriano for nothing.

Yeah, but as it turns out, Soriano didn't really add up to much in Texas or scrub land either.
I'll never trust this' team again.

But at that time Soriano was a young borderline 40/40 player and we could have probably gotten an ace pitcher or 2 very good starters or dozens of prospects for him.

I keep on having to say 'yeah but', but yeah, can't we get a couple of good pitchers for A-Rod also right now, before he opts out? Or is there something in the contract I don't know about?

No matter what happens with players in the off season, I think we are in good shape as far as prospects and potential acquisitions.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Yeah, a no-trade clause. Basically, when the Yankees had Soriano, they pulled an Isiah (i.e., they starphucked)

I see what you mean now. Damn. Just going to have to look to the farm. A-rod, great season stats guy, but big dissapointee in the playoffs.

It just doesn't pay 'to pay'.

And if he opts out, then it's gotta be goodbye. There's no way you can give him a $300 mil contract that pays him until he's around 42.

It's cool that you read this forum. I actually didn't think anyone would read or reply to my post, but we actually got a discussion going!

Thought I'd take another peek before I hit the pillow. I don't think I can stand another huge contract with him. At least if he opts out, we don't owe him a thing. But he could torture us and stay afterall. It is kind of strange how hardly anyone responds to my posts either, in which case I wonder why I stick around. My polls seems to have more success. I think I hurt a lot of feelings around here. There's so much love for Isiah. Sheeeesh! We'll see what A-rod does. Notice I put rod in lower case? I tend to minimize someone's name, when I'm dissapointed in them. That means for him to get his capital R back, he's gonna have to come through big for us. This will be his goal. Get his capital R back.
I'll never trust this' team again.
