Im liking some of the center prospects who might be comming out next season to put next to Randolph.

Hasheem Thabeet, Roy Hibbert, Devon Hardin, DeAndre Jordan.

Im thinking we package Curry early for a team looking for some type of post scoring threat. I think a team like Seattle would make sense. A deal like Curry & Crawford for Sczerbiak, Wilcox and maybe/possibly at future protected pick. Though they would be reluctant to do that since they would be taking back more money since Crawford & Curry have 2 extra yrs than Wally & Wilcox. Curry can possibly open up Durant & Green on the outside. Seattle would also have what seems to me like a couple good complimentary players around Curry in the frontcourt to kind of hide his lack or rebounding and shotblocking. Collison, KT, Swift Petro, Sene.

That equates to a 38.4 salary cap in 09/10 for the Knicks. Though that is without Lee's contract extention so at most add 10mil to that though his contract would probably go for 8-9 his first yr with a 5% raise. Marbury & Rose off the books in 08/09. Q & James would have 1yr remaining. Jefferies would have 2.

We then put our focus on the draft and target one of these centers. We could offer Nate for a mid rd draft pick, maybe by trade deadline work a Wilcox deal for another draft pick and an ending or similar contract for a lesser player.

If the knicks would have traded for a pg like Andre Miller we would not be so bent out of shape now.

Why? Because Miller running the offense is like a coach on the court at all times.

Andre Miller is the perfect kind of point guard for one on one type of players the knicks have.

Miller has the nact of getting good looks for his teammates.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

That trade is not worth our time. Curry is worth way more than Wilcox (unless Wilcox makes a huge leap this year in production) and Wally is garbage. At a minimum, it would be Wilcox, Delonte West, and two 1st round top-3 protected picks for Curry and I would be hesitate to do that trade.

Because not one team in the NBA in the last 20yrs and probably more has won an NBA championship without a strong defensive frontcourt.

Either Randolph is going to have to be replaced by a playmaking PG & 2 lunch pale defenders to go around Curry. Like Smits used to have with Dale Davis & Antonio Davis. Or Curry is going to have to be moved for a defensive anchor at center. Which I think a guy like Thabeet could become.

An upgrade at PG adding a playmaker would be funner. Sure a guy like Andre Miller would be able to hide a lot of the flaws of an unbalanced roster and make us more competitive and funner to watch. But he isn't going to win us any championships. On a side not I have yet to see Andre Miller have a big game in big game. Thats why he was traded for Iverson.

As for the deal, we may not get the most talented player in the trade. But as it has been proven over and over again at our expense. Thats not what makes it a good trade. The idea of Moving Curry & Crawford to Seattle drops our salary cap to 38.4mil in 09/10. While Crawford might be better than Wally. Wally only has 2yrs on his deal while Crawford has 4. Wally is also a more efficent outside shooter. Wilcox also only has a 2yr contract. So we move out talent, we gain back flexabily & better balance. It would also give us 4 ending contracts next season, which would be about 48-49mil comming off the books. Following up with the plan to move Nate & Wilcox for draft picks & well as having our own draft pick this yr. We would have the picks and the cap flexability to build with Randolph, Lee, Chandler, Balkman, Collins, maybe Morris. Marbury, Wally, Q, Rose will all have ending contracts. And we could work out buyouts of James & Jefferies. Leaving us with the picks & the players I just mentioned.

Miller is nice but I think Knick fans would find a way to complain about him if he were in orange and blue.
