Stephon Marbury also sat out the game, conserving his knees and giving Jamal Crawford a rare start at point guard. Thomas said he wanted to see Crawford and Nate Robinson run the point. Jared Jeffries started at small forward, and Quentin Richardson shifted to shooting guard.

Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph started their second consecutive game together, with moderately better results. Curry finished with 23 points and went 9 for 13 from the field. Randolph had 8 points and 9 rebounds and shot 3 for 9. Crawford, who missed all eight of his attempts a night earlier, scored 22 points and was 7 for 15.

Personally, I think Jamal is better suited at the point for the defensive matchups at 6'5. If, and this is a huge if, Mardy Collins can recapture his late-season learning curve of 2006 he also becomes a candidate.

I respectfully decline the temptation to join the "sky is falling" chorus this morning.

The sky be falled.

We just waiting to see if it goes back up.

Glass is half empty until you put more water in it.

I hate until there is reason to love.

My love is conditional.

My message to lovers all over who hit on the haters is to try to understand that the team did not do well last year and they suck. Loving on them until they prove otherwise is just wishful thinking and thats cool, but it is just not fact. Haters are fans btw! We just thing our team sucks and we will root for them to get better. No excuses, just keeping it real.

And the off season problems they have just make it harder and harder.

What makes me smile is my life is good, and my boys at Clearbridge are messing up Jimmys plan to steal the company from shareholders! Money talks and we is fighting back! The empire is vulnerable!

Craf - 5 turnovers and 6 assists in 33 min against NJ subs/scrubs...
This what you call PG job?
Are you kidding?

Eddy - 4 rebounds and 4 turnovers against one leg kristich and Collins?
This what you call dominance?

Q and Jeffries - guarding carter and Jefferson to go 15 of 21?
This wnat you call our defensive stoppers?

About the team:

17 assists to 21 turnover (NJ 27 assists to 18 turnovers without Kid)
0.4% from the flor and 36% of 3th (NJ 56% from the flor and 54!!!% 3th)
4 blocks for NJ 7 (are they more athletic? I guess.)

Just facts...

arkrud - you know I love you like a red-headed step cousin on my Aunt Margurite's side of the family but - before you go into another hissy fit over the entire organization I would greatly appreciate your attention and focus on the topic at hand.

To be more specific, how does your account of Eddy's', Jeffries or , Q's numbers relate to the lead guard question?

Help me out dude.

Stop The Madness

Nalod - read my lips. This is NOT a "hater" or "lover" issue. I don't give a rat's butt about the constant daily bickering and division over such silly juvenile labels. There is enough of tension and fighting in the world as it is. I could care less about "haters" vs "lovers". You remember Spy vs Spy? What was learned from that?

Nobody wins.

I don't care about "haters " OR "lovers". I care about the Knicks.

Why let your personal bias get in the way of some rational, original, creative, level-headed basketball discussion?

Then again, you can always join those who simply live only to throw another tantrum.

Misterearl, the point is isiah has not come close to offering this team a suitable PG in all his time here. Crackbury was a bust from the get go, but Isiah's been too stubborn to admit his protege is lost in space and he as a mentor has failed miserably. And worse, he's continued to make the same mistake ad infinitum with Crawford and Nate, and paying no respect to the position in later drafts.

You know as well as anyone, the only possible option is Mardy. So, since you are both the questioner and the answerman, I ask you, why isn't Mardy getting any burn? Is Isiah afraid to learn the truth, which might reveal itself in one or both ways: 1) Mardy is our best PG. Better than his far more glamorous and expensive mistakes, and/or 2) with that said, even Mardy isn't up to the task, thus we have no head to man the point?

Please bestow us with your insight, answerman.

I guess the answer might be 'it depends.' If the team is rebuilding you go with Mardy and maybe JJ3 as a backup.

If not, you go with Jamal, with all his flaws.

I was reading all you post and replied to all of it.
Performance of all team is dependent on lead guard play.
Especially turnovers/assists ratio.
Craf is not PG and will never be one. He is missing the portion of the brain which is required for this kind of job.
And adding 20 pounds of body will not compensate this.

IT thinks that any collection of morons can be good in NBA if he is there to move the bodies.
He leaves it the imaginary world. Time to wake up and run.

But my venting is done with style and a comedic flair that few can match!
My rants are rational, original, and have been coined creative at times! Level headed? That went out the window after 5,000 posts! Level headed are mutant hybrid lovers whom hate when necessary on command.

Beyond the panic and histreria might me you mista, but you fail to lead us from darkness to a rational glow of enlightenment. Show me the light, show me the logic, show me .500! Thats all I ask is to match the wins and losses! Show me that Z-bo is not gonna get "Fryed" on the perimeter! Show me Eddy shoulder can stand up to reaching the Nutella on the top shelf!

My panic and hysteria is filling me with hate! Save me, save me!!!! Let me seee the spit in your mouth! Let me dance to the light! Show me my better Ho!!!!

Nalod - not bad. Keep up the good work.

Now, allow me to swich hats and refer to myself in the always amusing third person as:

The Answer Man Tells The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth

Q. blueseats - why isn't Mardy getting any burn?

A. Shift change. That, or his off season recovery is being monitored closer than Jerome James ketchup infecction.

Q. blueseats - Is Isiah afraid to learn the truth?

A. Some would offer that Isiah can't handle the truth, but the truth, as we all know is Isiah gotta win basketball games and make the playoffs. Isiah is also a tinkerer. What better time for auditions than the pre-season?

The truth will be told by the final roster decisions on the 29th.

Q. blueseats - thus we have no head to man the point?

A. Yes, the point is we have no clear favorite point to back up the point.

That was the original point. (smiling) So, What's your point? Who is on first.

Eddy's 9-13 looked decent to me. Did Crawford have something to do with that?

I saw all game.
Craf has nothing to do with Eddys 9-13.
Thanks to NJ scrubs and zack playing Fry-like-decoy.

As per Craf brain - the missing part is not physical but logical.
I guess luck of adequate education and proper coaching.
Thinking is hard - you need to train you brain all the time... Are you?

Arkud takes the Zen approach to thinking. Do not try to achieve those things which are unachievable. It only brings frustration and unhappiness.

basketballJones - you may be on to something. However, I always thought a legendary NYC dj (not djsu) put it best,

arkrud - I keep my brain trained by raining pearls like aspirin on your obvious pain

does that make me insane or worthy of your distain, or can you even remember when the Mets first baseman was nicknamed The Krane?
