October 17, 2007 -- Eddy's ready to go and I'm ready to go," said Randolph, who returned to practice yesterday, I just can't wait for this game."

I'm confident in that 15- to 18-foot area around the basket," coach Isiah Thomas said when asked about the Curry-Randolph combination. "They're capable of handling every situation they could find themselves in. There will be enough spacing around the basket for that to happen."

"We don't need to be considered (favorites) right now," Randolph said. "We're just going to work our way on up to the top. I'm fine with Boston being the favorite. Eddy is a force to be reckoned with and I'm a force to be reckoned with, so it's going to be interesting," Randolph said. "They've got a great team, and we're going to have a good team, too."

It's October 17, and the whole world wants to know how long before Eddy and Zach collide in the paint, bump heads and knock each other unconscious.

Didn't Zach say he wasn't gonna do any talking because he wanted to prove everything on the court?

What Amendment is Free Speech Anyway?

Bonn197 - apparently the NBA requirements on responding to the media override Zach's weak imitation of Duane Thomas.

Marv - the only time I wanna see those two beached whales bump stomachs is in the air, in April, after a dunk in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

But I'm down with a few tasteful, enthusiastic, but understated, high fives in the regular season

I never said he had no right to contradict his statement from last week. You posted those comments last week like you were pleased to hear that he wasn't gonna to empty pre-season talking. Now you're posting his empty pre-season talking!

You Talk Too Much

Bonn1997 - let me be perfectly clear. I have no problem whatsover with Knicks players, or any other professional players, speaking to the media.

Nor do I consider Zach's words "empty"

If Zach did not have an appropriate response for every media inquiry, he would be labelled as aloof, distant, non-cooperative, surly and problemmatic faster than you can say Patrick Ewing.

Did you see Don Cheadle in, "Talk To Me"?

So what was it about his comments that you liked so much last week that you started a new thread when he said that he wasn't gonna do any talking but was going to let his play on the court do all the talking instead?

Bonn1997 - I am truly flattered that you are carefully tracking my threads but I swear I don't remember riding Zach's jock about talking or not talking.

Just for the record - on October 17, 2007 - I'm perfectly cool with allowing his play on the court to do his talking. Whatever juicy quotes he provides as a part of his job description are for circulation, and deadline, puposes only.

Are you gunna watch the game or what?

But check it out, here's the BEST part: we get a first glimpse of how that smarmy Isiah Thomas plans to distribute minutes among the big three of Curry, Zach and my main man -David Lee.

Should they all stay healthy, the number one story of the Knicks season is frontcout minutes.

This subplot will be the equivalent of watching a Joe Torre use his bullpen.

Interesting that Isiah feels that Eddy is ready to handle any situation in the paint. Hopefully, Isiah and his staff are working dilligently to help Eddy become more aware of the double-team, how to read where the odd man is coming from and how to recognize who might be open.

I don't put all the blame on Eddy last season for not understaning how to beat the double team. Its up to the more experienced coaches to help out Eddy who is still getting used to being the number 1 priority (both for the Knicks and the opposing teams defense).

I'm really hoping to watch at least half of it. I'm in my first year as a psych prof, which means I'm creating all my material from scratch, and it's really eating up a ton of time. (My attention span is not great; so I come on UK often for quick brief work breaks.)

"Please add one whole wheat ..."

bigbeast - if Eddy Curry learns the joy of playing alongside the most talented power forward he's ever shared a lineup card with - by the ripe old age of 25 on December 5th - we should all puchase a dozen jelly donuts on mornings after Knicks games, to celebrate.

Abandon Ship?

Looks like the Act ONE of "Hello My Name Is..." is going about as expected with all the new pieces. The Knicks are 2-1 in preseason while Eddy (limited by shoulder) and Zach (commuting to Indiana with illness of Grandmom) getting acquainted.

You get better one quarter, and one game, at a time.

"We're still learning each other" - EddyCurry

"I don't want to say I'm depressed right now, but you definitely don't want to lose by one or 40," Curry said. "They made moves to be a competitive team. It's no getting around it. We have to play them better."

Said Randolph, "It was a bad game. We got a lot of work to do."

"It wasn't just Zach and Eddy. We weren't good as a team. We have to find eight, nine guys who can play together. We didn't help anyone to score. Ten assists - not a good sign." - Isiah Thomas
