I for one cannot wait to get Curry and Randolph on the floor together. I know plenty of people worry about their chemistry but I am not one of them. I actually think they are going to thrive off of killing other teams front lines. I think the Knicks collective big man unit is gonna be one of the biggest handfuls, (along with maybe Chicago and Miami) in the East. I know how much better we all saw Eddy get last year and if he's in shape from the get-go and continues to improve his understanding of both his game and his body, then he's gonna be a beast. You put him and Zach on the block together and they are gonna bruise people. David lee, we all know what tenacity he brings. You know he's gonna bruise someody. We all know Ronaldo "Hustle Harder" Balkman is gonna do when he gets in the game. And don't even make me unleash Big Snacks or Randolph Morris on you because you know they're gonna come in doing nothing but bruising people.

You throw all those bruisers in the mix with Q-Rich, Marbury, an apparently tough defender in Fred Jones, scrappy Nate and a bulked up Crawford and I think the Knicks are gonna be one tough, bad-ass team. I truly believe this team is going to surprise the basketball world and make some serious noise in the East with an overpowering, fast-paced, relentless fury of power, points and pain. Now wouldn't that be fun?

I believe...

You need to have heart in order to be tough and bad-ass. Like Ewing, Oak, Mase and X-Man. It's not about pushing, but what you do when the other guy pushes back.

From everything that we've seen from this current collection of players, they fold when they get pushed and things get tough. They don't have the heart that you're talking about. It's not a coincidence that they constantly underachieve.

I think you're wrong but I guess we'll see. As far as I recall, Zach Randolph has never played for the Knicks, so this current collection of players has never played together, therefore veerything you said after that is moot as far as I'm concerned. David Lee and Ranaldo Balkman have PLENTY of heart. Eddy Curry comes back after a major heart issue and basically risks his life to play, yet you say he has no heart. Sure Jerome James has not heart, but that's about it. You can keep living in the past but I'm not dwelling there. I know the potential our bigs posses and I believe these guys want to prove everyone wrong, hopefully starting with you.

Hey ilesfan I loved Ewing and Oakley and enjoyed all thier games. But guess what!! They couldn't win the big one. I read how some of you haters chased Ewing out of town. But that OK you now realized how good Ewing was and we got nothing for him. As I remember Zeke was not here. So you can't blame that one one him. Ewing was our Franchise player and the haters couldn't wait for him to go.

Do our current bigs even know what playing in "the big one" is like? They've yet to manage to win "the small ones" such as losing season series to inferior teams and producing losing season after losing season.

I dare you to find a single post where I ever disparaged Ewing or said I had wanted him traded. Go ahead.

Are you really obtuse enough to compare a few knuckleheads who couldn't appreciate a good thing like Ewing, to the growing number of people who understand how much of a laughingstock that Dolan and Isiah have made the Knicks?

That's an asinine comparison.

"Newly annointed"? That's funny. I've been here since 05. I just lay low because of all the negativity around here. It bores me. But, I just have a feeling that the attitude is gonna change once the games count and the boys show what I believe they're capable of. I can't wait to have some FUN on this site. I've only been around here for a short while but it's just boring reading the same people say the same lame negative garbage over and over. Anyhow, that made me laugh.

It was supposed to make you laugh. Hopefully, you understand what I meant by newly annointed. And, hopefully, you realize that Papabear just called you Bearnard.

You may be a poster from way back but you're like all the other Frontrunnin Lovers that come the start of the season. You come out of the wood work with your Trickle Down "This Is The Yr We Get The Job Done, We're Makin The Playoffs Ray Of Hope BS." As soon as we hit a couple 3-5gm losing streaks during the first month we won't see you or the likes until we win 2-3gms in a row in January then back to disappearing again because we teased, picking up with the normal 3-4gm losing streaks and/or win-one-lose-one for 2mos straight before we completely bottom out. We'll see you and the likes again come draft time, pounding your chest like a Gorilla while nuthugging I SAY UGH trying to tell everyone and their Momma "Watch Out I SAY UGH Is Gonna Find The Best Shooter/Rebounder/Shotblocker etc etc In The Draft", only for him to request such player to go play overseas because he simultaneously manage to CLUSTERSTARPHUCK the sqaud some more by trading for Larry Hughes and Kenyon Martin, where one respectively fell out of favor with their team and the other missed 1/3 of the season but played like a monster in the playoffs.

Meanwhile Haters will be and were here Rain, Sleet, Hail, Drizzle, Blizzard, Hurricane, Typhoon, Tornado, Snow, Ice Storm until the real Sunshine will arrive. Stop Frontrunning because the season is underway or how about stick around consistently for the duration. It's not that hard if you are a fan of this team.

There he is. The great TrueBlue. You, Isles, (the list is too long) etc. say the same boring garbage over and over. It's pathetic. You are here all year because the last few years have been miserable for Knick fans and you have loved every second of that misery. You can deny it all you want but you and a few others on here seem to get off on misery. And I truly am sorry for you dude.

Now, if you'd like to stick to the topic at hand, how the Knicks young front line is going to be too much for the rest of the East to handle, then please do. If you want to take this topic and hijack it with your buddies, like you hijack so many other threads, fine, go for it. I really don't give a s**t. I'm going to bed, because like I said, you bore me.

Rear View Mirror

bernard30 - the people who bitch and moan only look backwards. They refuse any evidence of improvement, or glimmer of faith, as a symbol of every past failure since 1973. The Knicks corporate culture has never enlisted a collection of recent draft picks, and players under 27, to the extent it has this season. There is fierce competition for spots and minutes. That alone, is a change for the better.

Yo bernard. Add the lovable David Lee to the big frontcourt rotation to change the tempo - and bring Rasta Renaldoto overplay the passing lanes - at the three spot.

This team will never win anything until this group of players will became THE TEAM.
When Eddy, Zack, Steph, Craf, and others will come up and play together like a unit with determination to score and defend at each possession, go for every lose ball, and after they lost, point to themselves as a reason I will be a lover regardless of the names. And this can be measured each game very easy.
Individual talent is great in tennis or boxing. In basketball it is nothing more that fascinating side show. Nice to watch but it is not why I am a Knicks fan.

Bernard30, I suspect that an offense centered around our two bruisers inside is the main reason we are hearing so much about Fred Jones these days. It isn’t going to be pretty, but we are going to be looking to them to shoulder the offensive load and most likely we aren’t going to be hurting for baskets.

We are going to be hurting for defense, and it’s pretty obvious why Isiah is preaching that the guards stay in front of their man. He is well aware of the defensive deficiencies of the front line he has put together, our David Lee included. Driving at these guys and getting them into foul trouble is going to be one strategy for dismantling the scoring tandem. That said, if our guards really do get better at fighting through screens, staying with their man, and contesting 3-pt attempts, this team is going to better defensively no matter how bad Curry and Randolph are.

On offense Curry is going to have to be better at distributing the ball (Zach, from the little that I have seen, isn’t as bad at this as advertised) and our guards are going to have to be better at taking advantage of the doubles inside. On the former we’ll just have to wait and see if Curry improves in this area. On the later, while we don’t have the prototypical spot-up shooters I’d like to see, we do have scorers. In a line-up with our two boulders, Q-rich, Craw and Marbury, teams are going to have a tough time figuring out who they can lay off of in order to double team inside. Our scorers are going to get theirs.

So it will be up to our guards to orchestrate an efficient offense based around our bigs while staying with their man and defending the 3. They do that and Eddy-Zach’s job is going to be easy. But it means our guards are going to have to improve in two areas that were not their strength last season.
Its like a groupie website, or bitter ex-wives club. -Sebstar

With Zack and Eddy in the middle team doesn't need guards with the shot or drive.
Team need guards with brain. And this is the area they were not good all their lives.
Marbs, Craf, Nate, and Q together do not have even half of the bbal brain Nash or Kid have.
And I feel I am still making them a compliment.
You can improve in shooting, conditioning, and speed, but dumb is always dumb.

i think they're gonna let them shoot. prove to the nba that you're better than 40% perimeter shooters and then defenders will have a tough time figuring out who to lay off. but as of right now, i double down on zach and eddy and let those 3 guys beat me from the perimeter.
