I voted, I don't know. I respect what Allan is doing and the fact that he wants to sort of finish what he started is a testament to the type of guy he is. If he is healthy can play around 12-15 minutes off the bench then he will be worth his weight. He just needs to stand behind the 3pt line and keep the defense honest. He never really was a great defender so I can see the knicks switching to a zone defense when he is inn the game. I just don't know how Allan will make out with the grind of an 82 game season. If he is committed 100% to giving his all then, go for it and make the team, but if he's gonna leave when it gets tough then he should just stay retired. If he can do anything to the level that Grant Hill was able to do in the past few seasons with Orlando, he will be a great pickup for the team.

Allan will make it, knees or no knees. The Knicks need a good Locker Room Monitor, and Allan's the guy.

i also voted the "i dunno" selection. my spin is allan being groomed for a position and this may be the best way to make a logical decision

OMG! 8 people said he can play?! Only two, including myself, said he shouldn't play over a younger player. Stuuuuuuuuuupid!

This means 8 of you (so far) are in favor of Isiah being our **** GM/coach. Unbelievable! I can't wait for the S.O.B. to break down, more than likely in the beginning of the season.

I predicct that Allan will play and play well for the whole 82,well he can miss up to 10 games as far as i'm concerned.

But playing in stretches when nobody else can knock down shots, he will be a plus just ask curry and Randolp.

Regarding Nichols, I would also like this camp to see if he is a player at this level. Isiah should be able to tell in short order if he is a keeper.

How can he tell if he's a keeper when he just signed Houston, the no brainer that couldn't do it when he was younger and what makes anyone think he can be better older. The truth of the matter is, as it turns out, just about every move Isiah has made since he's been here have all been washes. Look at the records! Look at the records!!!

4949 - what is so patently wrong about giving a former player an honorable try out?

These words! 'honorable', 'loyalty', 'stature'. What is going on here? How about 'shot knees' 'never lived up to the potential' 'making the same mistake twice'? I mean what exactly did this guy do that was so significant for us? Other than scoring and a very lucky bounce! Nothing! Nothing at all! It's not the fact that he played for us before, let alone he didn't even live up to what they/he said he was going to up to. It is the fact that we keep signing no brainer failures! That's what's wrong with it.

If I' were GM, i'd let all of these contracts run out, resign the young potential, get rid of old broken downs and protect the cap. Protect the cap until true superstars became available and give them offers they couldn't refuse. And then build what I could around them with proven defensive people, reminging you's to keep as much young talent in check, so as to assure the future at the same time. And keep them coming through the draft. And then I'd bring in a complete proven staff that could coincide with these players developments. The whole thing would be run by professional people, good people with great track records. The best team money can buy and man' have we gone through some wasted money! That is the way to build a winner.
