Kobe wants to leave because of Bynum

I can't believe that. Kobe may be incredibly frustrated with the likes of a young Bynum but he doesn't wanna leave just because of him - big difference. Kobe wants to be on a winning team that goes deep into the playoffs. Bynum is part of the problem.

With Bynum, Zach, whomever, Marbury and Kobe starting, that would be enough for wins and playoffs.

Kobe just wants to win another a chip without disel, so if bynum goes in a trade with him to timbuktu and wins he wouldn't care.

I would try to keep Nate as a spark plug off the bench, but I would still do it anyway. Marbury, Kobe, Balkman, Randolph, and Bynum, with Q, Collins, Chandler, and Morris on the bench is a pretty solid squad.

We would not need nate anymore, he can take his circus to LA LA land and be a show all by himself.

Kobe's a show all by himself.

We should kill ourselves if we don't pull that trigger. Problem is this. LA should kill themselves if they DO pull that trigger.

I'd do it. I'd like to keep Lee and trade Zach, because Lee is such a good complimentary player. But I'd do it with Lee.

the question is why would the Lakers do it?

Kobe will require talent, salary compensation, multiple first-round draft picks and some free Cablevision for life.

It's a no brainer for us. The Lakers would have Lee, Curry, Odom, Crawford, Fisher which isn't too bad.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I would trade any package of players from our team for 1 Kobe Bryant. The man is just that good.

None really... But if I was forced to make a move I would make Lee a must have. They would probably need Jamal to fill a gauard spot. I wouldn't mind shipping out nate - which is a long time coming anyway. Those 3 are clearly not enough to get a Kobe deal done unless he really forces their hand.

I don't know if they want curry or zach with bynum already there but I wouldnt flinch to trade either one in a Kobe deal.

I'm also willing to throw them some protected draft picks for the 2 years or so.

Kobe made a bad Lakers team competitive in the Western conference. Imagine what he can do in the Atlantic.

sbensol - so if you're Jerry Buss Lee is a must have.

Don't stop there, looking through Buss' eyes - is anybody else on the Knicks roster that you covet?

No, not really. They could probably get a better deal from a different team.

If I'm Buss and I really decide to trade away the best player in the league - I have to know I'm not going to get anything close to equal value.

I would probably covet cap space (Malik) and draft picks the most- then try to pick up some good young players with potential like Lee, Nate, Balkman, Chandler or even Morris.

I've been trying to find a trade that works under the cap on real gm but since Kobe has a no trade clause it won't let me.

Like I said- the only chance we have to land Kobe is if Chicago gets too scared to give up on Ben Gordon+ and the Lakers have no other options. It's really up to Kobe to force the issue and demand New York.

This is all highly unlikely, but it would be the best thing to happen to this city in 10 years.
