I cannot see the starting lineup of Q Rich, Marbury, Z-BO, and Crawford.

This lineup plays very tentative and unsure.

This lineup needs some new blood inserted into the lineup.

IMHO Q needs to sit along with Crawford.

If this team is all about feeding the post and opening up the offense, we won't need marbury and Q Rich early on in the game.

Mind you I like both players but our chemistry issues have risen again when it comes to starting slow.

If you noticed last night the starters don't seem to have a guy who gets everybody into a groove(leadership) early on in a game and that is the same problem from last season.

I think we need some energizer bunnies inserted in the starting lineup .

Who it is will be up to Isiah to decide.

Does anybody see what I am seeing ?

If this is Isiah's make or break year, he might have to create enemies within his final roster.

We need experienced perimitter defenders not just youth or marbs and craw , especially at crunch time defending the 3pt line.

Fred Jones when given the proper mins in a rotation can be balkman like but with an offensive game with big game experience at the sg position.

Isiah knows fred jones, he drafted him knowing his capabilities on team built like the knicks.

I would like to see him inserted in the rotation knowing from experience that craw and steph can be vunerable trying to stay in front of NBA starting backcourts.

Remember chucky atkins , andre miller etc... creating and causing havoc.

FOR CHEMISTRY SAKE CRAW AND MARBS AND Q can't all START together.

Someone said, doing things the same way expecting different results is a form of insanity.

Make the change on opening night isiah

Lee and Zach and then pick your poison. The rest are just role players who should be reserves.

You're talking about Marbury because he is the PG...the distributor, the one who is supposed to involve everyone. Maybe its not Q and Jamal. Look at it from that perspective instead.

Who will isiah start ahead of marbury?

This is why I included the other two we need to infuse a defender who gets things started balkman or Fred Jones not because of their talent , but for chemistry sake.

They can go many ways. It all depends on who is healthy, who's playing good D. I don't expect Houston to be playing much D, but maybe his offense can be good enough. Same as Crawford, but maybe Crawford really is improving on D in some aspect. Depends on Marbury. Basically, you might as well not even think of taking Curry or Zach out of the starting lineup, b/c it's not gonna happen. Most likely the same with Marbury too, but who the hell knows with him. I see no reason to ever start Jared Jefferies and/or Fred Jones. They are reserves to the extreme.

Will The Real GM Please Stand Up?

Cookdcokehop - that's all well and good, but what happens after the blockbuster Kobe Bryant trade goes down?

Solace - the main conflict is that Isiah's decisions will never conform to everyone's personal favorites. It goes with the j-o-b.

Craw needs to start & play big minutes. He is underrated on this board.

Q Rich is too slow & unathletic to play big minutes anywhere. He's also too short to play big minutes at SF. To me, he is strictly a bench player. I would allocate minutes as follows (assuming everybody is healthy):

C: Curry 30, Z-Bo 10 (yes, I realize he is not a C, but they'll be times he's on the court w/ Lee when Curry is out), Randolph 8
PF: Z-Bo 30, Lee 18
SF: Balkman 25, QRich 13, JJ2 10
SG: Craw 30, N8 (teaming with Collins) 12, Jones 6
PG: Marbs 30, Collins 12, N8 6

In the previous post, by Randolph, I meant Morris.

Earl - interesting, but kinda discounts what Marbury can bring & leaves a huge hole at the 2

Will Isiah sit his chicago native Q Rich in favor of a younger more athletic SF

Outside The Box

purple - not really. Work with me here.

Crawford is a much more difficult matchup at the point because of his range and handle. He already has synergy with Eddy which will aid in the adjustment to ZR. Defensively, at 6'5 his height is a plus. Collins and Marbury as stunt men.

Shooting guard?

Piece of cake.

You start Quentin Richardson, who can play two and also translate into more of an influence defensively. Q spreads the floor with his long range 3 bombs. Behind him, you have Fred Jones (defense), the comeback kid Allan (offense) Houston (maybe) and Demetris Nichols (the peoples choice), who played the two in Vegas.

Marbury can rest his knees.

Earl - Craw at PG is at least interesting, so I can't take that from you.

But...as I said earlier, I just don't see Q as an effective player due to athletic limitations, so for a guy like him to essentially take minutes from Marbury? I don't see that (or at least, wouldn't be in favor).

Craw at the point ? Only if Larry Brown is his coach, zeke will let him do anything he wants.

purple - I totally agree on concerns about Quentins' health. I have a bad feeling about his back holding up over the course of the NBA deathmarch of a schedule.

The Knicks may be one of those teams where the guard responsibilities are not divided with a hard line to separate who handles the ball, distributes, or calls plays.

I hope Allan Houston shares some science with Mardy Collins and Demetris Nichols

Past that, I'm not wed to any of them, including Marbury.
