IMO here are the locks for the team:

Eddy McCurry
Zach Randolph
Quentin Richardson
Jamal Crawful
Stephon Bluntbury
Randolph Morris
David Lee
Renaldo Balkman
Wilson Chandler
Nate the Fool
Maurice Collins
Ared Effries

That's 12 players right there .... with 3 spots left that goes to:

Allan Houston
Fred Jones
Demetris Nichols
Jerome James
Malik Rose
Jared Jordan.

Now ... rumors have it that Jordan is going overseas, so that leave 5 players with 3 spots left. You'd think Houston is a shoe in because he's Dolan's friend and Jones has a big advantage because he's Isiah buddy from the Pacer days. So that leaves 1 spot with 3 players in James, Rose, and Nichols. Instead of watching how Houston plays in the pre-season, we all have to watch how those 3 perform. Personally I think it's gonna be between Rose and Nichols with Nichols making it.
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

something has got to give

edit: Knicks need depth at center.....the knicks currently have more guards than they had last year! Malik would be good to hold on to but wtf......I'm stumped....

Ron Artest is the easy way out but I don't wanna lose David Lee over him. Better Isiah than me.....I'm telling you.....I'm ****ing stumped on this....

A lot more media backlash if he buys out both Rose and James. Isiah will especially get killed for that. Would Dolan even write 2 more buyout checks after Isiah just cost him $11.6 and whatever compensatory damages are going to be?

Seriously, what other GM in the history of the NBA would have gotten away with buying out all these players and swallowing all that money? LB counts in all of this too.

what's done is done & as embarassing & ridiculous as buying out Turd &/or Malik would be, it's necessary if you want to improve this team this year... as it is those guys are signed to guaranteed contracts as are the players who hope to replace them on the roster, so we're paying all these salaries regardless, unless they can work out some 3 for 1 trades somewhere

With Isiah, Dolan and MSG losing the sexual harassment case the backlash from that, on top of 3 1/2 years of failure, I think Isiah is in full self preservation mode. That means WIN NOW! Because of that, I think the chances of an Artest type deal is extremely high.

it could also work against that happening if Dolan doesn't want any more potential embarassing situations to crop up w/the Knicks this year too... we'll see i guess.

There is also the chance that Charles Dolan prevents any trade for anymore players with questionable character.

Basically it's going to be another Starphuck.

How many people here are going to fall for it, again?

I believe that Jones and Jordan are gone. The third person that I think gets caught up in the numbers game is Randolph Morris. Zeke will utilize Zach as center and run the ball when Curry is on the bench and Big Jerome has accumulated his 38th foul.

Miss Congeniality

Eddy Curry - nobody roots for Goliath, if he went 21 and 10 he'd still be too fat. If anyone deserved to be shown some love, a standing ovation would be a classy touch from Knicks fans who have sympathy for what he and his family endured in their own house.

Zach Randolph - too much Portland baggage, but fans will love his intensity, he will not back down and the matchup with Garnett will be off the chain

Quentin Richardson - those damn socks are too long and the headband bugs me
Jamal Crawford - too erratic to be a fan favorite, hold up... he just busted another three
Stephon - jersey sales in decline but shoe sales holding steady, stay tuned for the next juicy quote

Randolph Morris - see Eddy Curry

David Lee - could be the new heart and soul of the Knicks
Renaldo Balkman - see David Lee
Wilson Chandler - he would be a junior at DePaul and has a lot to learn, learn he will, see Renaldo Balkman

Nate - could have become adored by kids but the Denver scuffle didn't help
Mardy Collins - will be interesting to see if he finds his voice in the next 2 seasons
Jared Jeffries - if he does not impress this month, Mr Gone (see heart and soul)

Allan Houston - just let him make his first jumpshot in The Garden, please
Mailk Rose - your arms too short to box out Sheed
Demetris Nichols - see Allan Houston
Jared Jordan - could be another fan fave, send us a postcard, see you in '08
