A few interesting points I noticed.

The Celts have a good team. But they need a vet PG badly.

Ray Allen is going to be the scorer on that team. He's gonna average 25 ppg plus.

Paul pierce is totally a third option on offense.

KG is the absolute leader of the team. he's bringing them all together in a way reminscent of Pat Ewing.

Kendrick Perkins is not a starting caliber C, and they need a warm body there.

They have absolutely nothing in reserve up front. If Batista and Scalabrine are going to be the reserves a PF and C, they will lose a lot of ground when KG's on the bench.

The T-Wolves have nothing, nothing at all after Ricky D. Ricky's gonna average 40 ppg. Unless Corey Brewer turns out the be most NBA-ready rookie ever, the will be the worst team in the league. Al Jefferson looks uncomfortable in the team, and (excuse me Bonn) a little fat.

Glen Davis is the truth. They love him at Boston. He came in for garbage time. Te whole team was up on their feet, the whole time he was out there. He's HUGE! But he really tries. The amount he was running and the effort expended doing so says to me that right now his body can maybe, maybe handle 12 mins per game. But he's easy to love as a player. He's certainly got me as a fan after tonight, Celtic or not.

In summation, whether by choice or not, Pierce isn't even Robin. He's the third guy. The Celts have good depth at SG and SF with Ray Ray, Pierce, Tony Allen and Posey, but they need a vet PG like Anthony Johnson badly, and they have no forwards after KG. They won't win anything unless they rectify those things.

Oh and KG is an immense player, individual, leadaer and teammate. I would rather have KG aged 40 then 99% of the reat of the NBA.

It was awesome to see NBA action in the UK and the stars poured it. Lots of fun, and the Celtic dancers are Smokin'. Capital S. They came to the afterparty, and they are some serious hotness.

But we can take them down low. After seeing tonight, I would say that the Knicks would win a series against them, as long as Craw is at least slightly hot. They can't stop us in the paint.

And I would make a tentative prediction that Pierce is gone at the deadline. A perfect deal for them would be Okur+Deron for PP+ Rondo+Perkins. That would win them a ring for sure IMO.

Interesting thread. Maybe I overestimated what they've done. I thought Perkins and Rondo were serviceable starters. From what you've written, if any of their top three players go down, they're done.

Well to be fair, theres not much to tell. Lewis Himilton was there. Rupert Grint (ron weasley from harry potter) and the weasley twins. The usual assortment of barely-dressed golddiggers. The Celt dancers showed up looking fiiiiine. Stern was there. A few players showed up. Some bigtime hiphop star whose name will come to me tomorrow.

But dayum those dancers are seriously hot! And sweet too. They were hanging around talking to guys. There were no cameras o anything so all the celebs were being very cool.

A good night. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a Massachusetts-based proffessional gyrator waiting for me.......

Don't wait up...

I wouldn't go that far. If KG goes down then yup, they're going nowhere. But if they lose Ray, then PP will step up and vice-versa.

But they are very thin up front, and they need a vet point badly.

Look, I wouldn't underestimate them. they have one of legends of the game, the leagues best shooter and a top 10 sf in PP. But I don't think its going to be as simple for them to win as people make out.

And by the way, I personally really like Rondo. In a year or two, he will be one of the best guards in the league. But the Celtics don't need that.

Its kinda like the Steve Blake situation in Denver. With Melo and AI doing t e offense, all they needed was a solid, cool head to pass the ball around and shoot 3's. Rondo's not that guy.

I think the Celtics are a 4 or 5 seed, with a chance to get to the conference finals. They just don't have the depth to do much more.

Their window for winning a championship is 2009-2011.

The east is still pretty weak. (Actually, I think the whole league is compared to the 80s and 90s.) I think they can finish 1st in the conference and make it to the finals.

nothing against doc rivers, and i could be wrong, but the level of talent boston has right now is not for doc to command a championship.

this type of talent belongs to only a few select coaches: phil jackson, pat riley, larry clown and maybe greg popovich
