This tells us that he is decent but nothing is written in stone yet. We'll know nothing for sure until he works out in new york and we see the reaction from the ny post, team staff, etc. I still think we will get either him or Sweetney, but i'm staying with Sweetney until we hear expectional things about Baby Shaq.

Baby Shaq?

I think the kid is overrated.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Word, Baby Shaq? That's not a good nickname.

I gotta see the cat play to believe it.

I did see this clip of him catching a bounce pass and following it with an uncontested dunk. Nothing spectacular. I thought he looked short and his hops looked very regular. He was being guarded by George Muresan.....

I'm not sold,....yet.

Don't believe Real GM's posters.....that board thinks they know it all.

Shortsianitis impressed last year Iraklis American player, Tony Farmer ( former Golden State Warriors Forward), who gave him the name “Baby Shaq”, because of his beast-strength and his inside game.

That's from nbadraft.net. So much about his nickname, make of it whatever u want!
Id take every insidepower we can get, so if this kid is 6-10 id take him!

6'8", 6'10"... I don't think it matters too much if the guys has quickness, toughness, and heart. I guess hops and game smarts help too.

I won't make a direct comparison between Baby Shaq and C Barkley, but Barkley was a 6'4" PF for a long time in the NBA. Undersized players have made it in this league, they just have to make it up in other areas.

He's overrated only because people are assuming he can do everything thats been said. Once we see it for ourselves we can see what he can do.

I agree with you Lampe seems like the way to go. Height and ability and only 18 your talking about a player that will be around for a while. I would take him with the 9th and find a way to get another pick to grab Outlaw. with the second round take Lang. this way you can move Lampe to PF in the future and Lang can take over the center. Outlaw the sf and Houston will still be around for the sg and Vujanic at g. This is a nice core group to work with.

This would be about the perfect draft scenario the Knicks could have.

Not to be cynical but, Eric Chenowith had a great attitude too... I'll reserve judgement until I see the guy play.

Thats still not enough to make me think Baby fat is our guy. Need the low down on his real height. Until then I picture a 6'8'' player that has no business on the knicks because we have abundance of short fat powerforwards. If he turns out to be 6'11'' then I would say that our guy.

I love your post...nobody could have said it better. Why draft a young short fat PF (allegedly) when we aready have Clarence "Hotdog Neck" Weatherspoon (AKA Mr. Durability hahahahahaha) I cant believe Layden. He signs Weatherspoon and Doleac and acts like he has filled up the roster holes and the team is good to go. "We are very happy with the product we put out on the court and if something comes along to improve the team we will do it, but we are happy with what we have" You mean a losing team? That isnt getting any better? Overpriced, CRAP! You think he and the Iraqi information minister get tips from eachother? I can see it now "We are not losing this season, the Nets are not better then us, we have the best record in the league - we will win the championship at this rate" Yeah right, turn on ESPN Layden and look at how mediocre the squad you put together is.

Say what you will about what Spoon looks like, I still like him playing the SF position for the Knicks. Here is a guys who can rebound, post, and play D. Move him to PF... and I don't like him too much. Too undersized. Getting injured was just bad luck, he has been uninjured for much of his career.

Too bad the Knicks have too many duplicated positions. Spree and Houston and Anderson at SG. Spree, Anderson, and Spoon at SF. Ward, Eisley, and Williams at PG. The list goes on (except for Center).

the word Martin... is... dysfunctional.

p.s. we also lack talent in a big way... if you add Eisley and Ward, multiply them by two... you still don't come up with Tony Parker... and if you were the Spurs, would you trade for anyone on the Knicks for Ginobili? I don't think so...
