All this talk about him being a leader is hogwash.

The guy cant play worth ****, i've been saying it forever.. I remember i think about 2 games last year where he had a positive impact.. and about 60 where he had a negative impact.

LET HIM GO BACK TO SAN ANTONIO!!!!!!!!!

Your gunna keep this bum who nobody respects as a leader since he can barely dribble and release Nichols who looks like he could be the steal of the draft??????

FUCK U ISIAH!!!!!!

Please cut Jerome and Malik lets move these tired ass old bodies out of here they are worthless!!!

from a poster over at Real GM who went to the game tonight:
It was sheer joy until Malik Rose came onto the floor. He's terrible.

Sound familiar!?!?!?!??!

Yes, now I think its pretty clear that few people and I were right when after 2003/2004 season we said that we should have used the Allan Houston rule with Malik Rose instead of Jerome Williams. I think at that point too much people were thinking Malik was useful.

I'd like to see Malik cut too, but I think Dolan has become more reluctant to eat big contracts.

The locker room leader stuff is over-rated unless you have a first-rate cop in the order of Larry Johnson, Maurice Lucas or Lennie Briscoe.

Nichols can cameo at two positions and is taller.
Nichols brings more variety and a quantum leap in terms of an outside shot
Nichols brings the intriguing x-factor of potential. Malik has hit his ceiling.
Nichols attened Syracuse.

Malik must go.

Wow. I agree with you. *The world explodes*

If Malik is such a good leader; bring him back as an assistant coach; not a player.

I've been saying this about Malik for years.
When he's on the court, he brings tears to my eyes.

And not in a good way.

So you are saying somebody was not only an idiot to trade for him but also complete moron to give him playing time.
It is not about how bad Malik as player is but about how he was used.

Thiings Change

The game just may have passed Malik by and that's cool. It happens every few years or so. Players and skill sets change and all of a sudden your 6'5 power forward just ain't quick or accurate or tall enough.

Malik is merely the second coming of the rugged but oudated Clarence Weatherspoon. But let me be perfectly clear - I ain't hatin' because he came bundled with David Lee. And you know how much love I feel for David Lee.

I just cringe when he raises up for a jump shot.

Did somebody say petition?

Until its malik that is holding the team back or stifling Nicols career, then he should stay.

Let the guy get into shape and his timing down.

I agree in principle but I'd rather see Jerome James get cut first.

At least malik has some trade appeal as an expiring and is a good lockerromm player.

Somebody in the lockeroom needs to say to some players: "WTF are you thinking"?

And we know its not the man with the high dimes to assist ratio!

Nalod - since when are the games played in the locker room?

Hold UP... Did you say, "get his timing down"?

I got news for you, if Malik's timing ain't "down" by now, it ain't nevah gunna be "down".

Besides, you always need to keep a guy like Jerome James around for comic relief. Say what you will about Oakley but it was his infamous purple suits that kept everyone loose.

I wish him nothing but good things in his future as an assistant coach.

The whole point is.. Malik IS holding the team back.. and if he steals a roster spot from Nichols.. he IS stifiling his career.

Let the guy get into shape and get his timing down!?????????????? He hasent been in shape since he got to NYC. And his timing is the main problem.. He has NONE. DO you watch Malik Rose play??? Getting his "timinng down" is so far from an option its like asking Jerome to get his "Diet Down".

I'd Rather see Jerome get cut first....... But then fallowed immediately by Malik.

If Malik has trade appeal then what the **** are we waiting for??? TRADE HIM

The point is nobody is going to listen to an old man who travels, misses layups, miscomunicates on the court and causes way more problems out there than almost anyone on the roster... Would someone listen to Nate about how to keep their turnovers down??? No so what the **** are they going to listen to Malik about? How to do the Hakeem the Dream spin move in the post?????

How to defend Tim Duncan.
How to throw a lob into the post.
How to be a good character guy and teammate.

Nah we don't need any of those guys.

Cut JJ. Leave Malik outta this.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

LIke I said, Malik is not dragging this team down.

It is not his fault the team is what it is. He plays a valuable role if you want to win now.

If you want to go youthier, then blame Isiah for keeping him around. Im down witht he youth movment, in fact thats all I ever wanted anyway!

and like I said, lets cut JJ then we'll talk.

I'd cut any of the two JJ's and Fred Jones before I cut Malik, but I also don't really have much use for him here. I do think he's a positive influence on the bench, just not on the floor.

Also, Malik tends to think of himself as a scoring option/borderline goto guy when he is on the floor. I have said this on many times throughout the course of his NY Knicks career. He is a bit player enough said.
