This is not over! Assiah created a big mess and it looks like he won't be able to get out of it.
Watch now! everywhere he goes, he'll get grilled constantly. FIRE this guy already, DAMN!! It will only get worse. I can see it now, opening night at the garden for basketball and tons of people picketing for an apology.

The Rev. Al Sharpton is calling for a boycott of the Knicks unless coach Isiah Thomas, who just lost a sexual harassment suit, apologizes to black women.

Sharpton and his fellow National Action Network leader Tamika Mallory want Thomas to clarify statements he made on a tape played at trial suggesting it's worse for a white man to call a black woman a bitch than it is for a black man. They plan to announce the boycott today.

"He set a false standard that black men are allowed to call their women, in particular, the B-word, almost as if misogyny is acceptable for black men," Sharpton said yesterday. "He owes the public an apology and clarity for that."

"A white male calling a black female a bitch is highly offensive," Thomas said on the tape. "That would have violated my code of conduct."

In her lawsuit, former Knicks marketing executive Anucha Browne Sanders, 44, accused Thomas of being a foul-mouthed bully who repeatedly called her a "bitch" and a "ho" in private conversations - and then suddenly declared his love for her. She also said she was fired for pursuing sexual harassment allegations against Thomas and the Garden. On Wednesday, the jury awarded her a stunning $11.6 million.

Attorneys for the Garden have vowed to appeal.

Days after his initial comments were aired in court, Thomas told reporters outside the courthouse, "It's always wrong for any man to call a woman a bitch."

"It seems like he backtracked, but he didn't retract his statement," Mallory said.

She added, "We cannot challenge artists and commentators like Don Imus and others on their language and then allow our athletes to use language that demeans us or sets a standard of disrespect."

Well this makes sense that he should apologize to all black women to close this out and bring some media closure.

Nobody in their right mind would want someone to call their wife, girlfriend, sister, mother that in a derogatory way....including Isiah.

Al is just keeping it real in this case.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

"He set a false standard that black men are allowed to call their women", in particular, the B-word, almost as if misogyny is acceptable for black men,"

Only problem is Isiah never said that. All he said was he would take more offense to a white man calling a black lady a B*tch than a black man. He never said it ws OK for a black man to call a black lady a b*tch. He said it was wrong for anyone to call anyone a b*tch. No different than how black people are ok with black people using the Nword but get pissed if a white person does.

As far as media addicted Sharpton goes were are all his protests of the rappers using the B*tch word and Ho word all the time in their lyrics the last 15 years?

Maybe Isiah should protest Sharpton trying to make a name for himself over one of the biggest race based hoaxes (Tawanna Brawley) in NY history.

Is there anyone in the world outside of a few Knicks fans who actually like Isiah Thomas?

He should also make Starbury apologize for calling her a "black bitch".

What does "more offense" mean? It's either offensive to call a woman a bitch or it is not. There is no black and white. Comparing ghetto speak where it's "acceptable" for a black person to call another the N word is not acceptable in a corporate environment no matter who says it. And if this sort of talk is acceptable for Isiah Thomas, then we don't need his ghetto ass running the Knicks. All the more reason to can this clown. Same with Marbury who treats women like ****.

Isiah did not mention in the corporate world and your "ghetto speak" and "ghetto ass" is offensive in itself.

Maybe Sharpton should picket your office.

Is it offensive because I'm white, or is it offensive because it's an inappropriate choice of words? If I were black and used those same words, would you be less taken aback?

I would love it if Sharpton and all the other folks would boycott the Knicks. I'd love it if a few of our own posters here did the same. Man up guys. If you feel so strongly about this, boycott. Lets see who is man enough to back up their words with action.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Still, he called her a B*tch and H*e and thought it was ok. What's worse is that marbury called her a Black B*tch.

Don't matter if you're asian, hispanic, indian, it's still wrong and there isn't a difference calling a black woman, a b*tch..

bottom line, It will only get worse! Time for Assiah to pack up and bounce..

What about Tamika Mallory who is also a member of the National Action Network.
Who should she apologized to? She works for the same organization
