No...I think you add lots to a conversation when you don't break down into...lets call it yelling mode. I see meaningful conversation that deteriorates into pointless arguing. If someone isn't "giving" in a conversation...I'd suggest ending it.
Your comment (As the "lovers" give none, why should I?) is the crux of the issue. If both sides take this stance, whats the point?

I think that is a statement can be turned around and rightfully be said by those you are arguing with.
