"David Lee looks 100 percent and some of us were trying to distract him while he did some shooting after practice with Demetris Nichols. David hit 7 out of 10 from the baseline with the reporters in his ear. He was about 15 feet from the basket and I warned him he might get a nosebleed being out that deep. David's determined to show he can play a little 3-spot if the Knicks want to go big with Eddy, Zach and him in the frontcourt."

In my opinion, he needs to develop a consistent mid-range jumpshot if he wants to play the 3. The dude is somewhat of a tweener. Even the back-up 3's will beat him with their speed and the back-up 4's will overpower him.

If he can pull it off it definitely gets the best players on the court.

I'd love to see a lineup of Craw, QRich, Lee, Randolph and Curry.

I don't like the defensive side of things with him at the 3.

Or the offensive side of things.

Looks like Lee is completely useless on this team.
But he is beautiful trade material.
He will be very useful for any other NBA team.
Paradox...

I see Lee getting over 30 minutes per game. Whatever happens, Lee will be the first man off the bench.

If McCurry gets into foul trouble, Lee will be the first man off the bench.
If Z-Bo gets into foul trouble, Lee will be the first man off the bench.
If Q-Rich gets into foul trouble, Lee will be the first man off the bench.
If Crawful gets into foul trouble, Lee will be the first man off the bench(Q-Rich slots into SG spot)
If Bluntbury gets into foul trouble, Lee will be the first man off the bench(Q-Rich slots into SG spot; Crawful slots into PG spot)
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

If we will have 2 problems mentioned above at the same time we need 2 Lee...

7 out of 10 from 15 feet with no one guarding him? That's hardly a stunning accomplishment!

Damn the University of Florida for bulking Lee up to play center

He was a flyer in high school who would have been better served in the long term to stay skinny and agile

As is stands he will receieve plenty of PT

Bottom line is Lee can guard Pierce for 6 possessions maybe 7 if the refs give him the benefit of the doubt on one of the hand checks. Lee will get is 30 minutes a game, and will average a double-double. We are saying dont play Lee at the three because he can't guard but we never say dont play Randolph and Curry because they cant guard anyone also. Lee will be the best defensive player in the post for the knicks this year, but he only needs to get spot minutes at the three if the matchup is right.

SkyWalker - nice words, but Can you name 3 matchups at small forward that favor Lee?

I think he can guard the antione Walkers and he did a great job on Lamar Odom when they played. They have to be bigger guys that dont rely driving to the basket. I also see the Knicks playing a lot of zone this year to hide Zach and Eddie.

King1 - don't be such a lemming. Nobody has seen Eddy and Zach together on defense. Why not add another forward and let's see what the mix looks like before we claim failure?

They may be a far cry from Bill Russell and Wes Unseld on defense individually - but if employees number 50 and 34 decide to set a tone with a few select hard fouls, I can't think of many opponents who will automatically want to drive the lane.

Would you intuitively attack the rim with reckless abandon against two thick (6'11 and 6'9) dudes out to make a point that the "grand frontcourt experiment" just might work?

Or, after getting hacked a few times, would you think about it?
